Good value couple of hour activity. Small visitor centre. The price of Feb activity is reasonable for what it is. Small number of day time visitors- I think we were the only two in the castle (except the seagulls!)

Easy access from the main street, brilliant sea and mountain views. Within easy walking distance to good shops, cafes and the beach.

its worth taking a trip back in time even winter at this nearly whole castle .The views over battlements of snowdonia are stunning with the snow as a extra bonus.Beware of the slippery steps but its worth it.There are no facilities here ,the toilets are outside the castle and you have to have that 30p.there is also no cafe but... I've visited lots of castles in the UK but none as well kept as this one. Brilliant views from the walls, lots of corridors and rooms to get lost in. Not many information posts but it's really quite something. It's quite eery and the odd pigeon flutter can make you jump. Not good for small children or pushchairs as the... More

This is an excellent example of a medieval castle, complete with a water filled moat. Many of the buildings are intact and you are able to walk most of the walls. From the walls and towers you are able to get a great view of the Welsh mainland across the Menai Strait. There are plenty of dark passages to explore... More

We visited on 2nd Jan, shortly after the castle had been flooded and closed by the recent terrible weather. They had done well to get it open again so quickly. We really enjoyed our potter round the castle walls and corridors, information boards tellling of the history, just enough to keep us all interested we all got a lot out... More

Helpful attendant. Clean office, shop and entrance.,explained what parts of castle could be accessed . Too bad toilets , even though there was to be a 25p charge to use them , were locked. No alternatives except use hotel along the street.

This is a very interesting castle but I think it could be a more interesting place to visit with more information and better facilities. There isn't even a toilet on site, you have to visit the council-run toilets up the road before you go in. After all the rain, it was obviously very muddy underfoot and part of the site... More

Unfortunately when we arrived we were advised we could only walk around the outside of the castle due to flooding. Hope to visit again so that we can see the whole castle. Very polite lady on the door!
