This is a relatively easy walk. The views are breathtaking - encompassing Cader Idris, the Aran mountains and the surrounding hills, the Mawddach Estuary all the way down to the sea at Barmouth and, looking north, the river valley towards Trawsfynydd. On a clear day, it is even possible to see Snowdon in the far distance. The walk provides a... More

Ideal for getting that 'up in the hills' feeling without the inconvenience of doing any actual climbing. The Precipice Walk consists of three and a half easily graded miles on good footpaths. Clear signposting ensures there is no possibility of losing one's way. Views of Coed y Brenin, Cadair Idris and the Mawddach estuary are sensational. Those without a head... More

This walk could not be better. Relaxing, easy walking, stunning views, good level paths and so so quiet. At every turn there is a new sight to behold - from the Trawsfynydd power station in the distance one way, the sea at Barmouth the other, and the traffic on the road 800 foot below. The beginning and end of the... More

Don't be fooled into thinking that the 3 miles can be done at the standard 20 mins per mile cross country rate, there are fantastic views and Kodak moments aplenty and even seasoned walkers need approx 2 hours. Not for the infirm, vertigo sufferers or pregnant ladies. What this walk needs though is passing points , at some points it... More

This walk will take about one and a half hours at a fairly brisk pace. Allow more time for taking in the magnificent views which change with every bend en route. The views take in some lovely small villages, the Mawddach valley and Estuary, Barmouth viaduct, Cader Idris, the Aran mountain. Parts of the path really do live up to... More

The Precipice walk is well worth it. The scenery is fantastic and the views across to Barmouth are stunning - especially on a clear day. The walk is fairly easy and has distinct paths to follow which makes it leisurely and easy to navigate. We did the walk both clockwise and anticlockwise and found that you see new things on... More

Such a beautiful walk so tranquil with breath taking views. Not too strenuous suitable for all ages, we took our dog with us who thoroughly enjoyed the walk. The car park is free but limited space. Do take a camera amazing scenery

Very enjoyable walk. There were some stunning views, made all the better with the snow on every mountain. The walk is not difficult, and there is a convenient car park to start at. The only draw back was the A470 ruins some part of the walk, especially because they are doing work on it, and the diggers can be heard... More

Relatively easy walking at a high level offering great views. Pass through very pleasant scenery. Some people may find the height a little challenging. In that case wiser not to attempt in poor weather.
