The Home of the Blues comes alive on this city tour aboard Memphis...

The Home of the Blues comes alive on this city tour aboard Memphis' only music bus. See Beale Street, Sun Studio, Stax Records, the Lorraine Motel, movie locations and more, but the music is the difference on this tour. All of Backbeat Tours' guides are Memphis musicians, who play and sing selections from the city’s rich musical heritage, along with generous helpings of comedy and audience interaction. Ninety minutes of high-energy fun!

Myself and many of my co-workers went on the Memphis Mojo Extended Bus tour which included a tour of Sun Studios. The young man, Rob Halford, was our expert tour guide on the bus as well as a very talented singer of many of the Memphis Rock and Roll and soul songs. He knew all of the stories and songs... More

Took the extended Mojo Tour which included Sun Studios tour. Excellent tour guide, very knowledgeable. Tour is interactive with tour guide singing and playing guitar. Passengers are each given a shaker and encouraged to accompany the music. A must do tour, thoroughly enjoyable and informative , even if you are not a fan of the genre.

We took the extended tour which included a tour of Sun Studios. I would recommend either tour, depending on how much time you have and what you would like to spend. The bus tour takes you to musically-significant locations in Memphis and the guide sings during the tour. The tour of Sun Studios was interesting but not necessarily the highlight... More

We took this tour with Catherine. Catherine entertained us with stories about musicians who lived in Memphis and she punctuated her stories with songs. She was talented and had a good voice. The sights that she talks about are not photogenic but it is the stories that are so good. We were all given shakers to accompany her on route.... More

We really enjoyed this tour. It was fun and interactive. We learned things in musical history that we would never have known and we saw things that we would never have seen on our own. I highly recommend that you check out this tour next time you are in Memphis. You will have a blast.

I love music. The prospect of touring the birthplace of rock n roll accompanied was thrilling. Many things about the tour were great. I got to sit in the middle of the bus which proved to be a good choice; not too close to the speakers which were pretty loud. Our guide made us laugh and informed us of many... More

Our group of 7 genteel Southern Ladies went on a Friday and had a great experience. The ticket people were kind and helpful and showed us to an air conditioned area to wait for our tour. The bus was full and the a/c was not the best, so we were warm the entire time, but it wasn't too bad. The... More

Very nice tour of Memphis Blues music history. We took the regular Mojo Tours, others are available. The Owner actually started us out, and then they had a guitarist play music and also gave us a great overview on the history in Memphis music. We thought it was very informative and entertaining. Would recommend this if your visiting Memphis for... More

I love a quirky bus tour. This was not that. The heat index in Memphis the day we took the tour was 103 degrees. I heard the tour guide making a lot of excuses for the temperature by saying "oh the A/C works great until you get 30-40 people on the bus". Um, seriously? The bus was so uncomfortably warm... More
