The Home of the Blues comes alive on this city tour aboard Memphis' only music bus. See Beale Street, Sun Studio, Stax Records, the Lorraine Motel, movie locations and more, but the music is the difference on this tour. All of Backbeat Tours' guides are Memphis musicians, who play and sing selections from the city’s rich musical heritage, along with generous helpings of comedy and audience interaction. Ninety minutes of high-energy fun!

I love music. The prospect of touring the birthplace of rock n roll accompanied was thrilling. Many things about the tour were great. I got to sit in the middle of the bus which proved to be a good choice; not too close to the speakers which were pretty loud. Our guide made us laugh and informed us of many... More

Our group of 7 genteel Southern Ladies went on a Friday and had a great experience. The ticket people were kind and helpful and showed us to an air conditioned area to wait for our tour. The bus was full and the a/c was not the best, so we were warm the entire time, but it wasn't too bad. The... More

Very nice tour of Memphis Blues music history. We took the regular Mojo Tours, others are available. The Owner actually started us out, and then they had a guitarist play music and also gave us a great overview on the history in Memphis music. We thought it was very informative and entertaining. Would recommend this if your visiting Memphis for... More

I love a quirky bus tour. This was not that. The heat index in Memphis the day we took the tour was 103 degrees. I heard the tour guide making a lot of excuses for the temperature by saying "oh the A/C works great until you get 30-40 people on the bus". Um, seriously? The bus was so uncomfortably warm... More

We took the early afternoon tour. It was a very hot day, but the bus, in spite of its years, had nice air conditioning. The bus is equipped with a singer, good audio and some additional music gadgets for the tourists to play along. The musician is a very good singer and an entertaining storyteller, he sings along Memphis history... More

Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. If this is your first time to memphis this is a good introduction to the city and to the music. Your tour guide is not only the narrator but also sings the songs he is talking about. He was a great singer and great story teller. We also got given tambourines to join and act as... More

If you aren't familiar with the rich history of Memphis music, this tour will give you a great introduction. You'll hear some songs you recognize, but may not recognize the composer. It's a great first thing to do in Memphis as it may spark other places to visit -- you don't get off the bus unless you pay to go... More

It was alot of fun and learned and saw alot! Guide was great. We did the Sun Studio Tour after and it was nice because you didn't have to drive there and park, the bus dropped you off and picked you up.
