The nature center is an oasis bordered by commercial, school and residential properties. The idea of saving this space for viewing nature and learning in museum setting is genius. Trails around the main pond are well maintained. However if one strays beyond the paved trails you will encounter barricades of fallen trees and bridges marked as unsafe to cross. On... More

It is nice enough park, but it isn't worth traveling out of your way to visit. The staff is friendly, the restrooms were clean, there are some nice animal displays inside. I went on Tuesday when there was no fee, I would have been highly disappointed if I had paid to enter. The paths are short, and there is not... More

I live within a mile of Lichterman Nature Center. They have beautiful educational facilities and equally stunning grounds. Sixty-five acres of lake, meadow, forest and trails. A real delight, but...of immense irritation are their limited hours (Tues.-Thurs. 10-3; Fri.-Sat. 10-4; closed Sun. and most holidays). Don't count on taking an evening stroll after work...even when it's light until after 8:30... More

There for a banquet. Very organized layout. Would be great for an outdoor experience. Parking is not a problem. It is a little out of the way for tourists, however locals should visit.

Nature trails and Interpretive center, very well maintained. The lotus-covered lake is beautiful. Plentiful free parking and helpful employees/volunteers.

Lichterman is a gem of a park in the middle of Memphis. Very peaceful, wonderful trails and ponds, tons of birds to see and hear. A great combination of education and fun.

I lived in Memphis when the Lichterman center was built. I has amazing plants and paths through the gardens. The archicture of the building is beautiful and you can easily spend the whole day there.

Lichterman is a really nice peaceful area - nature walk, lily pads on the lake. Ducks, wildlife. Beautiful grounds.
