The trolleys have not been running for at least a year now, and when they do run they burn up. It is also a waste of time since everything in downtown Memphis is in waking distance.

i always look forward to hopping the trolley when visiting Memphis. Being able to step out the front door of our hotel and hop the trolley to Beale St., Pearl's Oyster Bar, or just a trip or two around the downtown loop was always a pleasure. For 2015, however, the antique trolleys are down for restoration repairs, so I was... More

As of now, the trolleys aren't running. Electric buses are being used. This is a heads up for visitors who might seek them out. When the trolleys are running, they aren't extensive, like they are in San Francisco, but they are a fun way to go north and south in downtown Memphis.

Really enjoyed using the trolleys to get around and rode them a couple of times during our visit. Disappointed to learn that they are no longer operating

The MATA web site says they suspended all Trolley service June 10, 2014. Right now they are running electric buses. We the citizens of Memphis had our streets torn up to facilitate the trolley and now because MATA can't do preventative maintenance or install a fire extinguisher system a city attraction is suspended. Just another point of half-done Memphis project.... More

Memphis Blues Festival on August 30 was along the main street trolly line. A terrific afternoon and evening attraction with local artists tending their paintings while bands played on several stages. Free Blues performances from a wide-range of bands. The MetalWork Museum had a live exhibition for entertainment, too.

Seems like the services have been suspended. Fingers crossed that it will return. Living downtown is a fun experience and riding the trolley is an extra part of that. Whenever I'm out working out, I would pass these cool trolleys all over main. Hope to see them again.

Came ready to enjoy, nothing jumped out on any of the tourist or MATA web sites to say were not working. Sadly the bus replacement does nothing for me. Ended up driving to attraction and sites or walking in the baking heat. Gutted
