If you're here to sight-see and you're staying downtown, you won't need your car the whole time you're here. Cheap to use-- $1 a ride or $3.50 for an all-day pass-- and you don't really even have to know where you're going. The drivers are friendly and if you just tell them where you're headed they will just stop and... More

Unfortunately, the trolleys have been broken for several months now, and it looks like they may never return. The city has started running buses along the trolley lines, which is convenient, and the buses are very nice and new and clean, but of course, it's not nearly as much fun.

The Trolley is a great, safe way to get from the hotel area to the downtown Beale Street area without having to worry about parking a car. It is clean, fast and inexpensive. We rented a car when we were in Memphis and if we had known about this method of transport, we would not have rented a car.

The trolley is great to ride up and down through downtown. The one issue with Memphis is the very high number of panhandlers and aggressive beggars. They are around the trolley all the time. Use the innovative "parking meter" style of donating to local charities instead of giving directly to the panhandlers.

Fantastic experience and what a service , running like clockwork with a variety of carriages. Great experience and pretty cheap as well as goes to all the places you want to get too. I think that they off the route now which is a shame , I hope they put them back as it was great experience

This would be fun if it were running. I like old time trolleys. In Little Rock, AR., you could ride a similar trolley all day for $4. Buy a pass and get on and off whenever you felt like it.

There is a lot of confusion right now about the trolleys. The old-fashioned trolleys that Memphis is known for are out of service (I believe until 2017, at least). The trolley routes are currently being run by buses instead. If you find yourself around when the trolleys are back in business, our family loved hopping on them for a bit... More

The trolleys have been gone for a year. Shuttle bus runs the old trolley route up and down Main. Okay if you need to get from one end of town to the other for a buck. Just a bus ride, nonarrative. Two other routes intersect.

I don't agree that the trolley is a joke or disappointing. Of course it's in a circle. We caught it down by the river and rode it completely through one time. It was a great way to see where other things are located and orient yourself to downtown. We found the Blue Monkey bar/grill by riding the trolley and that... More
