Do all your tourist stuff downtown, then come out here for dinner. Actually. Stay out here, have breakfast before heading downtown for the day, then come back for dinner. Tart was great for breakfast (we went twice in 3 days) Dinner was great at both Beauty Shop and Sweet Grass. Youg Ave Deli was okay.

Small restaurants and shops populate this very quaint part of town. Definitely worth a drive and a few minutes of walking around checking it out.

This neighborhood is so quaint and full of excellent restaurants and shops. If you are here in September, be sure to check out the Cooper Young Festival.

There are now more choices for neighborhood hangs, but CY remains great. You have really quality food (Beauty Shop; Tsunami), cheap eats (Jasmine Thai; Young Ave. Deli), and some surprises (Greencork wine bar, for instance). There are good bars to: a great beer bar, Hammer and Ale or, if you want to find some decent local music, Bar DKDC. There... More

The historic cooper young area has been a hotspot for years and it continues to grow in popularity. There are a number of newer restaurants/bars (no chains) that are lively every night. Relatively clean and while I wouldn't wonder too far off the beaten path it does seem safe. Very little that I would take a child too, especially after... More

We thoroughly enjoy this area and always find interesting shops and delicious food stops along the way. The houses are super cute and well kept up in this part of Memphis. Don't venture too far out, though, because you will end up in a shady part of the city.

The Young Street Diner is a gem! It as mentioned in our AAA guide book. The fries are wonderful as were our sandwiches. They have live music in the evenings and since it's a large place I'm thinking the place hops.

Well all i can say is that they have great places to eat and the stores are cool too. The best time to go there is during the Cooper Young Fest.
