This was and will be again a great park. right now the main area, lake and festival is all under construction. It is a little disappointing, but every change this park has done has been for the better so I hope I am right about this one. The main lake is drained right now, but the paddle boats have been... This is a untraditional playground spread out over four separate areas. Most of the equipment is for children at least four years old so my 2 1/2 year old could not do much on her own. It was also hot the day we went and the playgrounds aren't shaded so we were hot along with the sand and playground equipment.... More

My friend took me here as soon as I landed in Memphis so we could do something physical after a day of flying. We found our way to the paddle boats and had a fabulous time! We really enjoyed the laid-back attitude of the staff, and though it was hot and incredibly humid, we enjoyed ourselves immensely on the water!

This is a huge park with lots of atractions and a beautiful view! It is great for running or biking, for picnics, or just to take kids to have some fun.

Stopped off in July of 2014 to take a look at the buffalo herd. This place is supposed to be the largest metropolitan park in the US. They have paddle boats, horse back riding, walking trails, bicycles and picnic areas. I was told the have an awesome Christmas light show. Great place to bring children

This park is a gem in Memphis. Great for kids and family, running, biking, and so much more. I love the buffalo and I am looking forward to the park's renovations!

This park is really impressive, but it was really hot the day we passed by it on our trip. The playground is very cool, but not good for kids on a super hot day. The slides are metal and will burn you. There are paddleboats available for rent!

Looks like a great place if you want to walk, hike or bike. Had several events going on. Goes on for miles. Nice to have a little bit of country in the middle of a big city.

There is so much to do at Shelby Farms park, and it is so much bigger than people seem to realize when they visit it. It has the largest off-leash dog park in the city, with acres upon acres of open area which includes 4 lakes. The hiking trails at the dog park come out to about 3.5 miles total.... More

This is a huge park but we were only able to enjoy one small part of it---the playground. They had some interesting concept for kids activities. Lots of ropes and non-classic swings that challenged my kids (it kept their attentions for a while). If it wasn't so hot, we would have stayed a lot longer. Bathrooms close-by. Water fountains available.
