We are non-church goers from the UK. The congregation contained perhaps 25 regulars and about 80 tourists (virtually all white). Plenty of people taking photos (even though rev Green wasn't there on this occasion - I'm not sure they'd realised) with a few in tshirts and shorts. Most people were better dressed than this. Everything you would expect from a... More

The gospel choir were amazing harmonizers led by Al Green's unique and charismatic style. I have never attended such a lively service, compelling and absorbing and the congregation totally immersed themselves in the music and participated fully. A wonderful experience. Beware as the service lasts over two hours!

First of all, put your cameras away! It's not a concert, it's CHURCH! Visiting Full Gospel was the highlight of our trip! Seeing Rev. Green was fantastic and the local church members were so warm and welcoming. There were people from all over the world visiting and the choir was so inspirational. Do not miss if you are interested.

This was truly a memorable experience for our group of 13 travelling friends (both children and adults). All of us were truly inspired and felt at ease joining in with the congregation in celebrating, singing and praising God. We felt blessed in being able to have experienced the sermon by Rev Al Green and the choir and band were truly... More

On our way back from TN to TX, we decided to attend Sunday service with Al Green. We arrived early enough to catch about 30 minutes of Sunday school. The teacher was very anointed and brought a very good lesson. Them church began. The music is very anointed and excellent. So enjoyed the musicians and also the soloist.. Wow. This... More

What a treat! we loved sitting in at this church for a visit. It's not what my church was like by a long shot, but then I don't go anymore. This service was about a small group of people celebrating God and being grateful for what they had. It was uplifting to feel so welcome and the place was filled... More

We spent 10 days traveling Memphis, New Orleans, and Clarksdale, listening to phenomenal music all along the way. The best (and most inspiring) sounds, though, came from this choir. We felt delivered to heaven's gate after a 2-hour service. Thank you Bishop Green for memories we'll never forget.

I read the mixed reviews of this church and I have to be honest I am not sure how they are mixed? I thought this was an amazing and welcoming experience - definitely different from other churches I've been to. I guess what I thought felt welcoming, others may have felt was touristy. When we first pulled up I was... More

It was even more the southern soulful experience we were hoping for, and as an added bonus we were fortunate enough to see Rev. Al Green. On the Sunday that we went, it seemed there were many more tourists than congregation. The music and praising was great. There were several women dancing wildly in the aisles. The sermon was delivered... More

Loved it. Unfortunately the Bishop Al Green wasn't there when we went due to some sort of family emergency. However, this was still an amazing experience. I'm not religious, but for a white Catholic boy from England, this really was something I thought only existed in the Blues Brothers. Thought I'd feel a bit odd gawping at people while they... More
