Stopped at 6 of the best BBQ places around, each unique from the others. We learned what makes each special and how everything relates to the culture and history of Memphis. Our tour ran late and we missed some of a baseball game we had tickets to but we didn't care, we were having a blast. The tour operator did... More

I came to Memphis solo as a spontaneous weekend getaway. I thought the food tour would be a great way to see a variety of Memphis, try some great food and have some fun with other folks. Unfortunately, this was a four hour lecture with some food thrown in. Our guide Lance talked nonstop the whole time. He's very knowledgable... More

If you are not familiar with the variety of foods offered by restaurants on Beale or Main Streets in Memphis, and you have three hours in the afternoon to hear about local history and sample a variety of entrees and desserts, then this may be your kind of tour. I found out more about the history of Memphis and especially... More

This was a good tour for getting a taste of unique foods for Memphis. The food was delicious and we loved all the history we learned from our guide. But we were expecting more of a chefs tour of fine dining instead of sodas and burgers. If we had to do over again, we would do the BBQ tour.

Our guide was Debbie who was very knowledgeable both on the food and the city sites. The food was a good variety and loved the nachos at Alfred's even though I am not a fan of the traditional ones. It was fun to try things I would not have thought of on my own. We really enjoyed the company of... More

Fun, informative, tasty, and irreverent tour. On-line booking was easy and started on time at the Hampton Inn. Our guide, Lance is one of a kind. He has an opinionated and funny story about anything that may come up during a conversation. The first part of the tour we walked to various BBQ establishments on or around Beale St. Since... More

The places Debbie took us to were interesting and varied. A great smattering of local history. We got the real atmosphere of Memphis. It was a really friendly tour and we could not recommend it more highly.

We chose this tour because we wanted to sample Memphis food while at the same time learn about the history. Our guide, Lance, is very knowledgeable on both counts. I appreciated the old fashioned phosphate sodas, grease burgers, BBQ nachos, Mac and cheese, desserts, and tamales. The portions are actually a bit much: I couldn't even sample the last item... Loved our tour with Deb and would do it again!! Chef Deb knows everyone, knows all the great places to go and loved we got a history lesson as well. The walk was so nice and organized and of course the food was amazing!! We got a great mix of "upscale" desserts, locals only places and Elvis' favorite burger joint.... More

My friend and I were in a group with 4 others and lead by Debbie. She was a wealth of information about any topic, including good food. Each stop was unique and the food at each was very tasty - we were definitely full when we finished up!
