I've traveled several times on the American Queen and overall have had an enjoyable time. The staff is always so friendly even though it seems as if they are understaffed in departments currently. I also enjoy the entertainment immensely except it seems as if the quality of shows has really depreciated this year compared to years past. That was disappointing.... More

Cruised from St Louis to Cincinnati. Boat is in decent condition with lots of Victorian furniture. Maintenance to cabins and deck was being done as we cruised. Food was good with service in dining room taking 1.5 to 2 hours for supper. Buffet on Front Porch is faster and more relaxed. Entertainment in Grand Saloon was adequate. Cabins are very... More

My wife and I booked a Columbia and Snake River Cruse on the American Express owned by the American Queen Steamboat Company. the trip could not have been better. Great food, great staff, great sightseeing, great accommodations, great history, great shows and great weather. The only downside was the walls between rooms were a little thin. We could hear neighbors... More

From St. Paul (really Redwing, MN) to St. Louise (really Alton Ill.) The Corps of Engineers had part of the Mississippi closed for emergency dredging (hence the Redwing Departure) and our boat (or is it a ship?) was missing it's paddle wheel which had been removed to repair a major crack (hence Alton Ill. to reinstall it - after our... Step back in time to a kinder, gentler life. The paddle wheeler is outfitted with period Victorian furniture. The staterooms are quaint and cozy. The food is plentiful and delicious. The entertainment is satisfying and the River-lorian captures your interest. You will meet many other interesting passengers as you have to opportunity to explore many small towns along the river... I have traveled with this company on 2 different occasions. Once-Memphis to N. Orleans and most recently Minnesota to St. Louis, MO. Food, employees on board, entertainment-all were A+. I enjoyed the ports more that went from Memphis to N.Orleans. The other cruise down the northern portion of the Mississippi was very interesting in that there was a theme -... More

Just got back from a very relaxing holiday on board the very beautiful American Queen paddle steam boat. We left from St Louis Missouri and traveled through some beautiful country up to St Paul Minnesota. The cabins and interior are a little like stepping back in time but in a good way, the staff are friendly and very helpful no... More

Boarded the Queen in Red Wing as flooding had silted channels to Minneapolis. This is a great cruising adventure in the heartland o America. Stateroom accommodations are on a par with quality Ocean cruise lines while maintaining period styling of the great steamboat era.food has a similar quality. Highlight of the cruises are the themes offered. We enjoyed "Music of... More

We went from New Orleans to New Orleans. It is a very elegant boat. Good food, entertainment nightly, fun people. He enjoyed the trip. I did not. I'm glad we were able to get off daily and walk around. I felt claustrophobic, but we had an inside room!
