It took some time to find a convienent way to get to the departure point and from the arrival location, flying was not an option, because we live in Washington.. Hotel was excellant but the bus loading, to the boat, was a problem. On board service was excellant. Hop on hop buses worked well.

My wife and I cruised on the AQ last fall, Memphis to New Orleans over 9 days. It was one of my favorite vacations of all time! Every communication I had, prior to boarding was a joy, the check-in process smooth and easy, and the boat is simply amazing. Our outside cabin was small, but very comfortable. The food and... More

Enjoyable, but a few bugs to work out. It has been a week since my Vancouver to Clarkston cruise on the American Empress. I have enjoyed many cruises, on the mega-sized cruise ships, medium sized more exclusive ships, and European River boats. I struggled with several things on this boat... Because of issues "out of their control," the order and... More

Just got back from taking the American Empress on its Columbia & Snake River tour. Just loved it! We started in Vancouver WA with a somewhat confusing group meeting with the company agents but once that was over, the trip took a big turn for the better. The reasons I took this trip was to enjoy a week on a... More

First of all, this should NOT repeat NOT be under Memphis attractions or any attractions. This is about a riverboat cruise down the Columbia and Snake Rivers between Washington and Oregon. Tripadvisor people who read this before it's published, please take note!!!! This is a cruise run by the same people who own the American Queen... which is also a... More

This is my first cruise of any kind and my wife’s first river cruise. This is a fairly long review and meant to be an aid to those going on the American Empress Columbia River cruise. The ship is a four-story paddle wheeler recently refurbished for service that started this past May. We liked the size of the ship and... More

We have taken many enjoyable river cruises in Europe. So decided to take a 4 day cruise offered by American Steamboat since they were offering a 2 for 1 special, boarding at Cincinnati.. Their undiscounted prices are equivalent to those charged by deluxe river cruise companies in Europe. AQ is not a deluxe offering. The ship was attractive and comfortable,... More

My husband and I were very excited to hear that the American Queen was coming to Cincinnati this summer! We have been on it once before, many years ago! The boat is beautiful...it takes you back to a time of elegance and grace! The American Queen is a gentile lady full of beautiful antiques and takes you to a time... More

We took a cruise on the American Queen Cruise from Saint Louis to New Orleans The good: The boat is beautiful. Cruising down the Mississippi from Saint Louis to New Orleans was a wonderful experience. The entertainment throughout the boat, performers and musicians, was excellent. The land tours were very good, the hop on, hop off tour concept is a... More

This was our third small boat cruise and well worth the time and effort to come from the East coast for a river cruise on Rivers we had scarcely heard of much less understood the history. Once we overcame some incorrect information from ASC concerning automobile parking in Clarkston, WA along with some less than great responses from ASC, we... More
