Just to be there and feel the history of the place---incredible. The music coming from some of the bars was pure blues and just fantastic. An experience you can only have if you go there--just amazing

During my visit, this whole block was blocked from traffic. There are plenty of live music places there, as well as tourist shops to purchase your mementos.

I would recommend going to Beale Street if you get to Memphis. It was awesome. Great food, great music and good food. The people there were very polite. I highly recommend.

When visiting Memphis and going to Graceland, we felt that our visit wouldn't be complete without a stroll up the world famous Beale Street. Although it was mid afternoon, there were a few bars that had entertainment and we settled down for a beer in front of a great duo playing some blues and country stuff. Even in the afternoon,... We walked down to Beale on two evenings during our stay in Memphis hoping that our first impression had been wrong. Unfortunately the second trip did not change our minds. We love Bourbon St in New Orleans, but this does not have the same vibe. I have always felt safe in New Orleans, I did not feel safe on Beale.... More

Beale Street is a fun place to check out while in Memphis. I don't suggest taking the kids unless its during the day. You can get a drink and walk up and down the street with it. Lots of shops to check out, street dancers & good food. For those a bit on the wild side, there is a Coyote... More

A definite must do when in Memphis. Grab a beer at one of the many open counters and then just stroll in and out of all the blues bars and all the cool shops full of rock 'n roll memorabilia to voodoo stuff!

We last came here 15 years ago and Beale Street was bouncing with music. The hype, music and people have gone. People are wandering about looking lost wondering where the action is. The bars and restaurants are drab, dirty and empty, with a bit of recorded music or a very poor vocalist who is trying their best. While in Memphis,... More
