This is a large scale model of the Mississippi River. Completely different than anything you have seen before. More

It has been several years since I was on River Walk, but my general impression was that it is a grate place to be. I just felt good. View of the city, view of the river, and the great design. My criticism, if any, would be that I was under the impression that the place was closed except for an... More

When traveling I always take my bicycle along, because I enjoy riding on Recreational Trails. The River Walk Trail is a multi-purpose Recreational Trail that is very well maintained and safe. I rode the complete loop trail, starting in downtown Memphis. There is one section where the trail follows a lightly traveled street for a mile or so, but this... More

This thing is really a work of art itself. What makes it bad is there is nothing else. You walk this long rather beautiful trail but other than the museum there is nothing else of interest. This is how the river looked when it was built but the sand and land move here and there. Unless you are just a... More

Walking between two Riverfront Trolley stops along the bluff over the Mississippi is marvelous on a good day! Views of the traffic on the river and the beautiful homes (Cybil Shepard lived in one) give lots of photo opportunities. More

It's interesting to me that the Mud Island website doesn't adequately explain this engineering marvel. When we got here, a Memphian said that you can experience the "River Walk" and we assumed that we would take a stroll down the river's edge. It is a scaled down model of the Mississippi River combined with the towns along the river's edge.... More
