Very dated, very quiet but interesting if you take your time. Some exhibits not working - the paddle at the end in particular. The scale model of the Mississippi is interesting but a model that is half a mile long in blistering heat does lose its initial attraction. Monorail was working

Nice model of the Mississippi river. Museum is a one way tour. That's nice in that you don't miss anything. Bad that you have to finish and see everything. Parking far from the exhibits. Monorail wasn't operating.

If you're interested in the mighty Mississippi River, this is the place to go. Traces the history up to modern times with lots of quality and some interactive exhibits.

We were the only people in the museum at the time we visited. It wasn't really worth the time or money.

We enjoyed Mud Island's re-creation of the Mississippi River. It was educational and very eye-opening. Additional information, such as a map of the 'map' would have been very helpful. We asked at the gift shop, and they said this is a very common question. If you want a peaceful walk, you may want to check ahead to see if there... More

We loved it! You start by riding a monorail out to mud island. Once you arrive there's a wonderful museum. The focal point of the museum is a paddle wheel boat. Wandering through it voices "speak " telling things about what it would have been like. Other exhibits were on gamblers, showboats and disasters to mention a few. Upon exiting... More

The Mississippi River Museum offers a ton of history about the relationship between the city of Memphis and the benefit of the River.

Havent evengotten in yet but giving a 1 for misleading admission info on web pg. It says general admission is free. Unless you want to go into the museum, that is.

This is an amazing museum, one of the very best that I've ever visited. From the recreation showboat to the Confederate fortifications, from the Speakeasy to the recording studios, excellent! Outside is another fantastic treat - a scale model of the mighty Mississippi River that you can follow - and if you're lucky splash through as well - with the... More

Great history lesson on river life and Memphis. However, the museum is old and worn. Definitely needs updating.
