Stayed an extra day in this city, to other things, and this riverboat cruise. Was too long and boring. There are so many other more interesting things to do in this vibrant city. It just seemed a right thing to do but would not recommend it.

What a great museum! We took several hours to go through the museum and the river walk and were so impressed. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time for this attraction. It's definitely worth it. Great for kids, too!

We didn't see an advert for this, just a suggestion on trip advisor. We took the trolley car to the riverside and the monorail across to Mud Island. The last monorail off the island left at 5pm so we should have arrived earlier in order to spend more time in the river museum. There were very few visitors here.there is... More

There is a lot going on in this place and it's worth spending a bit of time looking at all the exhibits, statues and their inscriptions. A lot of history and explanations of how and why things were done in the past. very entertaining - not perhaps for younger children ..

This sounded very strange when the friend I was travelling with suggested we go, but it was absolutely fantastic. Took the monorail to the island and enjoyed wandering around this scale model, and dipping our feet in the pretend Mississippi at the end. Not many people were there (Memphis in general was actually quiet) and it was a lovely experience.

Well worth visiting this museum explains the history of the river and life and events with well thought out exhibitions. The model of the river outside to walk along is exceptional with facts about the different places along the river. A definite must see when in Memphis

We took the tram over to the island. A great experience in itself. The museum is so well done! Explains the history of the River and all that goes with it. A hidden gem and a must see when in Memphis.

What can I say about this museum? I just loved it. We just visited last week, and it was so fantastic! The tour begins with a walk onto a replica of a Riverboat...and the boat actually sways/moves and has sounds associated with a trip on the Mississippi River. From there, we walked through a brief history of the Native Americans... More

First, I must admit that I have a bias towards small focused museums such as these. I find that when the subject isn't strong enough to crowds automatically, curators work extra hard to form interesting exhibitions, and their enthusiasm for the subject matter shines throughout the museum. The River Museum covers, briefly, the history of the Mississippi River, covering Native... More
