This was our second visit to Mud Island. Our grandchildren, ages 4,7 and10, enjoyed wading the scale model of the river. They saw how our local stream eventually flows into the Gulf of Mexico. The museum was interesting and covered the history of the Mississippi River. Our main goal was met. The facilities are in need of updating and renovation.

Not unlike the park itself, in need of some work. Some electric powered exhibits weren't visible. Moving inclined walkways were turned off, We noticed audio devices available at the entrance. The ticket seller told us that while there wasn't a charge to use them that we wouldn't need them, they really weren't that helpful and simply didn't add anything to... More

As a resident of Tennessee, this isn't one of better state parks. We were there in May and the outside grounds needed some work. Years ago this was a great park. If you want a great picture of the Memphis skyline then pay the $5.00 to park.

This museum was the worst that we have been to. It was really dirty, and some of the exhibits were not even labeled. It was presented in an odd way, and the artifacts on display had nothing to do with the information that was provided. This was clearly put together in the 1980's and was never updated. The only interesting... More

Mudd Island Park is certainly a hidden treasure. Currently, the monorail is down and you have to drive to the other side (which takes about 5 minutes, if that) and park in the parking lot after paying $6. You begin your journey walking down the real Mississippi River and the model Mississippi River. Kids enjoy splashing as they criss-cross back... More

You can walk over, walk the model of the Mississippi River, & enjoy the park for free. The park is nicely arranged with shade trees, benches, & picnic tables. The model of the river & the historical info were excellent. The museum had a ton of info & the riverboat replica was flat amazing. The bathroom I used was clean.... More

First, you can ride the tram over the river for 4.00 and they are closed on Mondays so be aware. For 10.00 you can add the museum. It says the river walk is included in the ten dollars but actually you can walk it for free. Fyi. Nice to walk, wade, in the model of the Mississippi river.

I wasn't exactly sure what I was going to see at the museum, but it was more than I expected. We rode the monorail to the museum and walked through the exhibits, which included multimedia presentations and even re-created sets, including a riverboat. I think the museum does a great job of making you understand the river and feeling what... More

We decided to go to this museum on a whim, and were so glad we did! Here are the highlights: 1) Monorail is included in admission price, but opted to walk over via the pedestrian bridge. Such a great view and there's a nice breeze from the river. 2) Scale replicas of riverboat, battle scenes set at night felt like... More
