The scaled walk of the Mississippi river is not to be missed. I don't think anything like it exists anywhere else in the world. It makes understanding the origins of the river fun and shares a lot of the history of the river. The museum is OK, but certainly skippable. I hope Memphis keeps the river walk maintained as it... A lot of fun for a free activity, but the waterway was not very full and appeared to be not working properly. Will return when it is working properly More

I read some negative reviews on Trip Advisor and was a little worried it had gone downhill since my last visit nearly 20 years ago, but we had a great time. The museum is REALLY worth a visit. There was hardly anyone there, but it is well done and the exhibits are engaging. The kids especially loved the steamboat exhibit.... More

The scaled map of the river was interesting and we enjoyed reading about the history as you walk and read the posted information. Go at your own pace and there is a snack bar at the end. Tip - go early to avoid the afternoon heat. More

We really enjoyed our time at mud island. The museum was very interesting and there was lots to see and do plenty of good photo opportunities. We enjoyed our walk around the minature replica of the Mississippi river. We enjoyed the monorail going over to mud island and decided as it was such a nice day to walk back over... More

Mud Island is something that locals know well, but tourists might miss. It has some of the best views of the river, the Memphis bridge, and downtown (especially if you walk across the pedestrian bridge above the tram). There is a small museum, a summer concert series at the amphitheater, the scale-river walk (which you can walk in, but it's... More

We paid $10 for the Mississippi River Museum Admission and roundtrip monorail ride. It was a fascinating museum about the history of the Mississippi River and the area surrounding it. Exhibits start with early inhabitants (B.C.) and goes all the way to modern day transportation. You can board and explore replicas of full size boats. You can view replicas of... More

It was an overcast day, but we enjoyed walking along the Mississippi and our 3 year old loved the pedal boats. Would recommend, bet its even better on a hot day. More

My family had been saying for a while that we wanted to visit the Mud Island River park. We finally got our opportunity recently. After a morning on a river boat cruise we walked the few blocks over and hopped the monorail out to the island. That alone was a fun first my husband, myself and our two teens. We... More

Kids loved it, stayed for hours! Fun for the whole family. Walked the river, rode the boats, kids loved climbing the hills and sliding back down! More
