Fun journey on the Mississippi River without leaving Memphis!

Enjoyable walking tour of the river from the headwaters to the Gulf of Mexico. Great family activity!

Unfortunately, this attraction is closed in the winter months. It was also under water when we were there.

I don't really know what to say about this place. On a hot day, it is fun to walk along the "river" and put your toes in it, especially at the end of the walk. For kids, it would probably be fun and informative. For adults, it is informative and a nice reason to take a walk. On a spring... More

The scaled map of the Mississippi River flowing thru the island is well done. We enjoyed walking thru a part of it during the hot summer day that we went there. However it's hard on the feet b'coz of the rough & uneven surface so we adults sat down in a shaded area with our feet in the water which... More

It`s a fun attraction, especially to go with kids. They have a very detailled model of Mississipi river. You can also rent water bikes and have a great view of Memphis and Mississipi river. The train that takes you there is an attraction of it's own.

Took our grandsons, 3 and 7 on a Sunday afternoon. There is a gift shop where you can buy boats to float down the river. We were there a couple of hours but they could have stayed longer! The rental boats there looked quite nice but we didn't have time to try them out.

Rather disappointing with mud island, dated, scruffy and in need of updating, more facilities and entertainment needed to attract more people, it needs reviving badly!
