Took a walk from Hotel about a mile to the entrance of the park. The views and the river exhibit where a highlight of the trip. Would be great for young kids and a nice break in a warm day.

The people of Memphis are fortunate to have a FREE facility like this to visit. The adjacent museum does have a fee, but is very informative and worthwhile if you like museums. It is a large area, and did look like it needed a face-lift, BUT the scale model of the Mississippi is very cool and the views from the... More

In need of some TLC and maintenance, the attraction is still nice enough to be enjoyed... but it takes a bit of imagination since there are a number of repairs that are needed. The monorail was down (and evidently has been for over a week.) Some escalators weren't working. The Mississippi River sculpture doesn't appear to be operating correctly, or... More

We only visited here to fill time, however we were pleasantly suprised and so glad we came. This is a fantastic site. It is located near the Arkansas Bridge. From street level you take the escalator to the top of the bridge and you can either walk across the bridge or take a short monorail ride (return fare is $4.00)... More

Wow! what a place! The ride over on the mono rail was a treat in itself - BUT - to trace the Mississippi and check out the museum was the icing on the cake. Have many photos and great memories.

We had been here many years ago and decided to drive over again. It was definitely worth going again. This place is so nice with many signs to read explaining the Mississippi River and how it played a part in so much history. This would be a great place to bring kids ages 8 and up so they can see... Mudd Island Park is certainly a hidden treasure. Currently, the monorail is down and you have to drive to the other side (which takes about 5 minutes, if that) and park in the parking lot after paying $6. You begin your journey walking down the real Mississippi River and the model Mississippi River. Kids enjoy splashing as they criss-cross back... More

For no cost you can take the monorail and walk a sculpture of the Mississippi River from the north to the Gulf of Mexico. There is a picnic area on the banks of the Mississippi River under shade trees. We added the cost of the museum and it was very worth while. Many topics featured. I enjoyed the replicated river... We were there in May and let me tell you...its was hot. Not really too much to do or see on the island. Mono Rail ride was fun and it was easy to find - use the trolley and its a short walk. The river walk was very interesting - to see the elevations and bends was neat. Big pool... More
