A carved in stone rendering of the Mississippi River valley that you can literally walk along and follow its path through the park. It's amazing to see the detail that went into it. Also the river museum sits by it which can give you more insight to life on the mighty river.

Worth seeing -- really increased our knowledge of the Mississippi River watershed. The monorail to get over the river presented some great views but the whole site is in a state of disrepair. A lot of the informational signs are weather beaten so badly that you can't read them. Some parts of the river walk are chipping away. In spite... More

Loved the monorail to get over the river but the whole site after that was very tired and in need of some tlc. The Mississippi river walk was the best thing there. Could be sooo much better with some more investment and care.

What a hidden gem ! We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the museum and the working scale model of the river. Friendly staff and great value for money.

Following a scale model of the Mississippi river carved into the ground, the walk is half a mile and is a masterpiece.

Wonderful place to see. Great experience on the Monorail with the gentleman running it. Very friendly, asked about our trip plans, where we were from, told us about some of his travel experience.

I took the monorail and museum package on a very quiet Tuesday. The museum is a bit tired and not very engaging despite reasonable ideas. The redeeming feature is the half mile river walk along a scale model of the lower Mississippi. As I was stopped in Memphis on a trip down the Great River Road this was worth the... More

Yep, this is the place where Tom Cruise was being chased by the bad guys while riding the monorail out to Mud Island. The ride itself (three minutes) is worth the price, but you should also spend some time in the museum out there, as well as the gift shop. AND, a surprise attraction was the half mile working contour... More

We thought mud island was in pretty bad share in places with a lot of work needing to be done on the perimeter walls there was a lot of gaps, as we went up some steps on reaching the top all of the flag stones were up and in a really poor condition, I don't understand why?? We took the... More
