This is worth a visit if you are in the area for a week or so - would not make it a priority if you are on a tight schedule. Can not give it an average rating since I have never seen anything like this in other cities. That being said, You gain access via a monorail that runs parallel... More

Bring your dog (on a leash) and take a stroll through the Mud Island River Park. We enjoyed a picnic on a nice fall day watching the riverboats and barges power up and down the Mississippi river. This is a little slice of beauty and peace in a bustling city.

take away the monorail journey and all you are left with is a very dilapidated "attraction"?? which is in need of a major makeover and much renovation work

Absolutely amazing to see the path of the MIssissippi built into the Riverwalk. Fabulous place to spend a hot afternoon as the "River and Gulf" are actually wading areas. The musuem was very average, not really worth the price of the entrance fee. Monorail ride over had nice views.

we visited when it was raining, so we didn't get to walk the river walk. Was unsure about this place, we didn't have a clue what it was. But it turned out good! The monorail was Fun! Price was cheap! And when we first entered the museum, we thought, UGH, but then it got Alot better! :) it went on... More

We enjoyed our early morning walk across the river on the foot bridge to Mud Island . I found the museum interesting and informative especially the music section. I would like to see and learn more on the civil war. Our guide on the educational river walk was very knowledgeable .. I was happy that we chose this activity as... More

The Mississippi river scale model put the magnitude of the river in perspective. Very interesting to "see" how big it really is and the impact on the region. The museum is really in need of updating and making the artifacts more compelling.

The model of the Mississippi River and the storyboards were very interesting. The museum there is certainly worth a visit. If the weather is good, it's a good place to take a leisurely stroll for a couple of hours. Walking along the river model and taking in the museum are about all there is to do there. Very quiet and... More

The scale model of the Mississippi is so worth viewing. I would get there early if you go there in summer. It was very pleasant this morning with very few other tourists. Lots of parking but it closes on the 31st October for winter.
