Yep, this is the place where Tom Cruise was being chased by the bad guys while riding the monorail out to Mud Island. The ride itself (three minutes) is worth the price, but you should also spend some time in the museum out there, as well as the gift shop. AND, a surprise attraction was the half mile working contour... More

We thought mud island was in pretty bad share in places with a lot of work needing to be done on the perimeter walls there was a lot of gaps, as we went up some steps on reaching the top all of the flag stones were up and in a really poor condition, I don't understand why?? We took the... More

The museum and history of the Mississippi is great -- has a replica of a steamboat that's really interesting. Ride tram across ($4 round trip) and then spend a hour or two walking thru museum and along the river. Great for kids as well! Learned a lot.

I thought the Mississippi River Museum on the island was great. It includes a reproduction of a steamboat. I found the Riverwalk model of the river less interesting. Little kids splashing their way along the model did seen to enjoy themselves, so I would recommend it for families. We took the monorail, but it is a very short ride and... More

The scale replica of the Mississippi River from start to finish is worth the trip. The facilities are a bit run down on the island, but it's free and it makes for a wonderful afternoon on the Mississippi. Definitely worth the walk.

It cost ten dollars each to get the monorail to get across the river to the park but it would only take about ten minutes to walk if you didn't fancy taking the monorail. A narrow stream of water runs the whole length of the park but the shape of the stream is the shape of the Mississippi river and... More

There is so much information here as the history covered dates back to the 1700s...the format of the museum is reading the information at each display, so there is no actual human interaction. We took the mono-rail across the Mississippi River to the museum & then walked around the riverwalk where there is an exact scale model of the Lower... More

The park includes a metro ride, museum and fascinating marked walk through the history of the lower Mississippi area. It is creatively done and a real treasure! The museum covers Native American contributions, settler and exploration events of significance, a river boat history inclusive of the sensation you are on a steamboat and much, much more. It is tastefully and... More

It's a bit old and tired but it gives a good insight into some of the history and geography of the Mississippi and the part that the river has played in American history. There's not much else but it is a pleasant place to spend a hot afternoon. It's closed on Mondays. Probably good views from the monorail but better... More
