My best buddy and I went last fall and had a great time. There aren't a lot of exhibits, but what is there is quite interesting if you are into metal art. The grounds are beautifully located on the banks of the Mississippi River. The view alone is worth it. In fact, it is not uncommon for people to get... More

This is a place we was not please with. We thought there will be more to it. If you like up to date on art this is the place. It is all in the person.

This museum is difficult to get to, and in a not so good part of town, but the exterior gates alone are worth the trip. The gift shop was closed for renovation which was a disappointment but we were not charged for the visit. Some interesting outside sculpture. Would be fun to visit on a much cooler day and take... This is an art museum that shows artists' creations in metal. Not exactly what I was expecting. There is a blacksmith on site who is making metal creations which I could not tell if they were for sale or not. What is interesting is the property that the museum is located on. The building was a hospital for seamen but... More

We thought we'd learn about working with metal and see more interactive displays. The small museum has some interesting pieces but the labeling is minimal. We went into the blacksmith shop where folks were working but there were no explanations. And, they were using modern tools to pound and shape the metal. I would skip this one as there are... More

This museum is truly worth visiting while in Memphis, TN. It is a very good learning museum for everyone and all ages. It is in a good location in downtown Memphis near a lot of nice restaurant's and fun, historic Beale Street and all down town has to offer.

We have been visiting this museum for about 20 years now, and it's as good as ever. The individual rosettes on the gates are being refurbished and will be unveiled on Mother's Day weekend; can't wait to go back to see them. It is amazing to see all the work that metal workers can do: from iron gates, to large... More

The museum is really great, especially if you enjoy the oddity of it's location and the craft of metal work. It was beautiful and fun.

It was a little hard to find the first time but well worth the effort. The entrance museum gates are are a beautiful sculpture and are being refurbished. The outside landscape although not as nice in the winter actually allows a better back drop for the sculptures. The inside exhibits are small but unique and high quality. I enjoy blacksmiths... More
