This was a 60th celebration of a Rock and Roll. The grounds were nice but there wasn't enough seating due to the tremendous turnout.

For the uninitiated this is the historic Overton Park Shell where Elvis had one of his early great performances. A great place to visit where you can share the stage with King.

Great place to hang out and listen to music. We usually take food and wine. Often there is food for sale. Parking is convenient. Some nights the music is better than others. Always a great time.

If you are visiting Memphis during the free concerts (thu through sun) at 7.30 pm, it is a great chance to hear excellent music. Check on the website to see what is going on.

My fiancé and went to a free outdoor concert at the Shell. What a treat for us. The music was fantastic. Lots of dancing and singing. Most people brought chairs and a blanket, a small cooler with their fav beverages (Angry Orchard for me) and snacks. Lots of couples, families and small groups, it was a great night in Memphis.... They also shows films. It's a great atmosphere with children adults alike and you can bring a picnic with a cooler filled with drinks or enjoy the... More

I have been going to the Shell since the 60's. I'm so happy that it's back in full swing. Enjoy a variety of musical styles and refreshments. Special guest stars pop uo occasionally!

I enjoy Overton Park overall, especially for work-outs. However, I love free musical entertainment. It's always clean, the lawn is well manicured & the groups are entertaining. I go as much as I can.

The Levitt Shell is a simple amphitheater that resides in Overton Park. In recent years, the management has made some renovations including removal of the seats. Where they once were is now a grassy and mostly shady area for blankets and lawn chairs. Throughout the spring and fall there are a number of free concerts. The Levitt Shell, formerly known... More
