Inside the beautiful park of Memphis you will find this outdoor concert venue where The King got his start.

See what the King first sang with his van. Explore all of Overton Park while you're there - you'll be glad that you did!

I have been attending concerts at the Shell for at least 6 years now, when I started going there would only be about 400 people there for each concert now there are thousands I have seen some fabulous concerts here. We are so lucky to have it here.

Had a brief tour of the shell on our Elvis tour. I found it interesting and I know they do a lot of free events there but unfortunately we didn't get to see any while in Memphis.

Levitt Shell is a fully restored art-deco 1930's era outdoor band shell along the lines of the Hollywood Bowl. It is the best outdoor music venue in the Memphis area and as far as I'm concerned in the whole country. It's in Overton Park, a gorgeous setting. If you like live music, architecture or just having an excuse to be... More

here it is where on July 30, 1954 the young Elvis Presley stole the show before headliner Slim Whitman. The music historians call it the first-ever rock and roll show. And it happened at the Shell which was built , in Overton Park,in 1936, one year after Elvis was born!
