This is a grat venue for concerts. They have lots of free concerts here during the summer. And they also have some nice movies... It is great for piknics too, there is a nice lawn where you can put your camping chairs or blankets... Just sit back and enjoy the show.

You would think EVERYBODY knows about Levitt Shell's FREE CONCERTS. But you would be surprised about how many people do not know about it and/or choose not to come to midtown Memphis to enjoy an evening outdoors listening to GREAT music for FREE (or a donation of your choice) Grab a chair, cooler, food, bug spray and it's the best... I went to see Cedric Burnside in June 2014 and was delighted this free venue was so fabulous on an early summer night. I thought it would be really crowded, but there was ample room both up high for lounging on chairs or blankets, and up close to the stage for dancing. I never felt crowded or threatened by elbows... An amphitheater that hosts lots of free music and lets the audience enjoy the event. The bands that come through are pretty enjoyable and on numerous occasions you'll be thrilled by some outstanding performances. A very relaxed family friendly atmosphere. Be sure carry your own lawn chairs.

This was a 60th celebration of a Rock and Roll. The grounds were nice but there wasn't enough seating due to the tremendous turnout.

For the uninitiated this is the historic Overton Park Shell where Elvis had one of his early great performances. A great place to visit where you can share the stage with King.

Great place to hang out and listen to music. We usually take food and wine. Often there is food for sale. Parking is convenient. Some nights the music is better than others. Always a great time.

If you are visiting Memphis during the free concerts (thu through sun) at 7.30 pm, it is a great chance to hear excellent music. Check on the website to see what is going on.

My fiancé and went to a free outdoor concert at the Shell. What a treat for us. The music was fantastic. Lots of dancing and singing. Most people brought chairs and a blanket, a small cooler with their fav beverages (Angry Orchard for me) and snacks. Lots of couples, families and small groups, it was a great night in Memphis....
