The Shell is a delightful park to hang out in the summer and fall. It's one of the safest places to hear music outdoors. You can pack a lunch, bring your coolers, lawn chairs, blankets, pets and enjoy hours of great music.

I attended the Moon River Music Festival hosted by Drew Holcomb & the Neighbors. This was a great experience with acts like: Drew Holcomb & the Neighbors (and his wife Ellie), Switchfoot, Needtobreathe, Colony House, Judah and the Lion and more. The festival lasted from about 12:20 pm to 10:20 pm. The venue was great and I plan to attend... More

A real sense of Elvis in the very early days. Boy! He didn't know what was in store for him.. And we didn't know what was to hit us either! Thank you Elvis. We still LOVE YOU XX

Absolutely love the free summer concert series. Bring a blanket or lawn chair, a picnic, and your favorite beverage and enjoy some great music. Even during one of our worst heat waves, the venue was still tolerable, since the shows start at 7:30 and the sun is usually behind the trees.

To us old timers, it will always be the Overton Park Shell and the site of Elvis's first billed performance in 1954. From the Levitt Shell website: FIRST-EVER ROCK AND ROLL SHOW On July 30, 1954 Elvis Presley took the stage before headliner Slim Whitman. Elvis stole the show in what music historians call the first-ever rock and roll show.... More

We had a fun evening at the free Friday night concert in the park. Sat on lawn chairs and blankets like everyone else. People brought their own food or there were concessions. Parking was tight, but we found a great place - luckily. Kids were welcome. The music was very enjoyable and easy listening. No trouble with bugs.

Always fun for a concert, enjoy the outdoors at the same time. Not many places you can hear good music for free!

Wow, can't even begin to describe how vital this place is to the current Memphis Music Community. 50 free shows per year....and now the Moon River Fest! Love all of this.
