Wonderful for a Preschooler!

This MADE our four year old boy's fire fighter dreams come true! They have all kinds of hands on activities that are perfect for the 3-6 year set.

Once we found parking & paid for a 'family pack' for $30 (one adult, one teen & 2 younger kids) we started our walk-thru. One of the workers was either extra helpful or bored because we were the only people visiting at that time, but either way he offered to give us a tour! I'm not sure if he expected... More

We visited in September as part of our Deep South driving tour (sorry for the delay!!). At first we were disappointed to find that the museum was in the middle of a refurb and officially wasn't open as not all exhibits were accessible. We were a little disappointed as my father is a retired UK fireman and I thought he... More

The place has several life size play in fire trucks and activities for younger kids to run, jump and have fun in. Its got great education, focused more to young kids. For us adults we were a little bored, but the kids were having a blast!

What a totally bizarre experience! You have to see this once in your lifetime just to see how totally whakey and nuts our American cousins really are! We have trooping the colour and changing the guard they have...the Peabody ducks!!! So you have one of the most expensive and lavish hotels in Memphis parading 5 very ordinary Malard ducks up... we visited whilst the musem was being remodelled, we were only able to see a small amount of the exhibits. We talked to the firefighters and they were very friendly, sad we could not see the whole museum

I never miss an opportunity to visit a fire museum so when we visited Memphis on vacation, it was on our list of things to do. We rented a car at the airport to get around. There is a parking garage two blocks from the museum. Unfortunately, the museum was undergoing renovation so we could not see the main museum.... More

Can't say enough about how great the firefighters were when my grandson and I visited the museum. He's 5 years old and enjoyed it as much as I did. They gave us the grand tour, seeing all the old trucks was my favorite, seeing how fireman fought fires with horses as trucks was unbelievable. These are great people who spend... More

For those of us who run into danger when all others are running from danger: Pretty cool museum of Memphis Fire Fighting. About 4 blocks from Beale Street, right up Main Street. Some classic fire fighting equipment, such as hand pumper, and a very large collection of toy fire apparatus, many of them cast iron and rare. Some interactive attractions,... More
