Thanks to the second band (Darren Jay) playing at Rum Boogies adjacent "Juke Joint", we were able to salvage our trip to Beale. The group in the main bar was decent but too many covers. I've never been to Boogies without at least one of their 2 stages putting together a great set. The smoking is annoying, but forgivable since... More

Stepped in here when I heard the band playing a tune I loved. Well worth the $5 cover fee. Both the bands, that's right, two separate stages and acts to choose from, were terrific musicians. Got a little irritated by an obnoxious drunk but was pleasantly surprised when the staff took care of it. Apparently I wasn't the only one... More

The music was good, but spoiled by all the smoke. We could only last about 3 songs before our lungs were begging for mercy. The drinks were a little watered down. We won't be going back, but will be looking for the music elsewhere.

Pay the cover...you won't be disappointed. The music was like a nice massage. Very soothing and you didn't want it to stop. Nice mix of young and old, including Dr. Green, an 85yo gentleman who could still play the saxophone.

We wanted to hear some Blues music we were going to go to BB Kings but Rum Boogie seemed like it was really hopping. We had dinner and drinks. The taxi dropped us right at the door. Waitress was wonderful food was great and the Music was the Icing on the cake. All around the club guitars are hanging with... More

This the only bar on Beale, as I could find, that charge a cover and we were there mid-week! Beale was busy after the Grizzlies game and I'm sure they'd have had many more customers on this slow night if they didn't insist on a cover by the charmless man on the door. The fact he nearly didn't allow my... More

This was the only place with a cover charge, fantastic band, a bucket of beer and good appetizers. 400 guitars hanging from the ceiling, very cool. Absolutely on our list next time.

Another wonderful blues club, with a great band and an active crowd! The band played different genres, all performed with style and pizzazz. Cold beer and good friends rounded out a great evening!

Just back from an amazing roadtrip in the US. Absolutley faultess apart from the Rum Boogie Cafe in Memphis. Having eaten a great meal up the road in Beale Street, we went to the Rum Boogie Cafe for some drinks and Blues. The guy on the door asked to see our ID. Beware when in America people, I'm 49 and...
