This has the feel of ornate old-style theaters from mid-20th century with deep red curtains and gold ornamentation. Seating is good throughout with some basic food served at the snack bar, as well as wine in the foyer. We saw a performance by Ballet Memphis which was incredible, and held here due to the unique facilities provided (ample stage area... More

The only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5 is leg room. As this theater was rebuilt after a fire in 1928 at the corner of Main and Beale Streets , the populace was considerably shorter than in 2014. Biggest hint: if you decide to attend a play , concert or summer movie series there; sit in the Orchestra... More

My wife and I went to see "War Horse" at the Orpheum with a bunch of friends. Our seats were on the lower level but way at the back, with only a couple of rows behind us. Although the production was great, we had a great deal of difficulty understanding the dialogue because of the actor accents (British, German). I... More

So glad Memphis still has this beautiful, historical theater. Located in downtown Memphis, it is very conveniently located to many nice restaurants and fun establishments to visit while there.

The beauty of the theatre is equaled by the wonderful sound and lighting. All performances I have seen hear were wonderful. Paid parking within a block, closest lot $20-behind the theatre $15 -parking garage to the back of the block $10- a lot on the side of the block $5. All an easy walk. Some seats have short leg room... More

Was there to hear one of my favorite musicians. The sound was superb and I don't believe there is a bad seat in the house. Very intimate and the theater is truly gorgeous!

This place is amazing. Ornate, welcoming and acoustically outstanding. The finals of the International Blues Challenge are held hear and it is a great venue for any production. A must do must see in Memphis.

I love and appreciate history, but if I am paying for a performance, I would like to be a little more comfortable. I think the seating really needs to be updated in this place. I don't think this would take away from the integrity of the building itself. While I will continue to go to shows at the Orpheum, I... More

Love the Orpheum! Its a great place to enjoy a play. I recently saw Wicked there and it was excellent. The theater is comfortable and you feel like you've stepped back in time. Beautifully decorated. Nearby parking. Always a great experience!

The seating is tight so if you can get on a aisle do so. The 1st or 2nd seating is good. Bathrooms are at a minim so go before the show starts.
