Fine old time big theater that was originally a movie house built by now deceased Michael Lightman Sr.. Original name was the MALCO Theater, and it had the races separated. The "colored" ticket office was at the side (now bricked up) and they sat on the highest balcony. (OK, it may not be PC, but it is true history.) The... More

Whether you are in this beautifully restored theater for a play, a concert, the summer movie series, or some other special event, the glorious architecture and decor will elevate your experience. With luck, you'll catch a performance on the Wurlitzer organ as it rises from the orchestra pit just like it did to accompany the silent movies in the 1920s.... More

They don't make theatres like this anymore. This place is huge, and a great chance to see how a night-out used to work. Plus, the Orpheum sign is visible forever so it's impossible to get lost trying to find it (it's down South Main street around Beale).

Great location a block off of Beale. We sat in the lower balcony and brought binoculars and had an awesome time. Very cool theatre!

This Memphis landmark in a must see. A definite throw back to old school class and style for off broadway theater entertainment. The summer movie series is always a fun and decedent experience.

The seats will kill the show for you - so uncomfortable, short and close together - might as well sit on your neighbor's lap. If a tall person's sits in front of you, you will not be able to see the show. Would not recommend

Beautiful theatre with ornate carvings and decor. Great seats in the Orchestra Pit and the show was professional and entertaining.
