Despite being made famous in film and TV, most notably the film Local Hero, Camusdarach remains remarkably quiet. Our visit was during a sunny period in August, and on one day we arrived on the main beach at 10:00am to find it deserted. During the heat of the day you may find 5 or 10 groups scattered along the beach,... More

The sand, the view and the clear water - perfection. Very accessible and parking not an issue if peak times avoided.

Went in August. It's an OK beach for the UK. Having been to beaches in Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and Bali, I can say this beach is ok if your don't mind sunbathing in your coat or swimming in a wet suit. Suncream not required.

A lovely beach that we enjoyed walking the dogs on during a few dry hours. It can get busy but it is very beautiful with views of the islands.

Beautiful beach - fabulous dunes and of course famous for beach scenes from 'Local Hero' . Really private with easy parking and access.

A beach that makes your jaw drop which is accessed by a walk through beautiful Sand Dunes. This beach is unspoilt with tropical resemblance and peaceful even in the height of Summer only a few hours drive from our home in Glasgow. It was also the location of our marriage ceremony this July.

Amazing beach with great views to Eigg, Rum and Skye. Huge expanse of sand, rock pools to explore and huge sand dunes. Paid three visits to the beach and largely had it to ourselves each time. Already planning return

The beaches along the west coast from Arisaig to Morar are lovely and unspoilt. A brilliant place to get away from it all. Nothing but the sound of the wind to disturb your thoughts.
