For our first day in Scotland after an 8 hour journey from the south of england, we went to the Camusdarach Beach. WOW WOW WOW! I had read online that the west coast of Scotland had some stunning beaches and this was one of the best ones but was tricksy to find. I really wanted to see this supposed white... More

Beautiful white sand, curious little rock pools, picturesque setting with stunning sand dunes but watch out for the jellyfish!

Perfect for kids, Great beach for ball games, paddling in the sea. We were fortunate it was a beautiful sunny day. Top tip - it's not the turn off for Arisaig! Take the next turn off heading towards Mallaig.

Lovely walk from the car park through the dunes to a fabulous beach. Swimming was good, the water very clear but cold. A great day out.

This beach is amazing spent a hole day wondering up and down this beach for hours. Stunning/ majestic, I've never seen white sands until I saw Sandwood Bay and this beach is very similar I must say even though there's a couple of campsites down the road, the beaches are kept in prestige condition. The hills and caves round if... More

I discovered the beach at Camusdarach via a friend who was an extra in the film, Local Hero. I'm not sure if it was the magical film or the coverage of the beach that did it for me, but around the mid 80s I set about finding the place. I've been coming back ever since. There's something comforting in a... More

I've been visiting this beach since I was child and it never fails to delight and it doesn't matter what the weather is like. Beautiful soft white sand and if the tide is out you can venture over the abundance of little islands to explore.

Quiet, secluded and amazing. Reaffirmed my belief in natures ability to calm the spirit. A short walk from a hidden car park so ask a local where the beach is.
