The course this time was run by Tristan and Shaun and the two of them gave out good humour, excellent skill tips and support to all the participants. The dishes to be made were: Sweet Potato and Piquillo Pepper Tortilla, Fabada and Crema Catalana. I'd always wanted to do Spanish Cooking and this session did not disappoint. All three were... More

I attended a french masterclass recently, paid a reduced price of £99 and it was well worth this. Excellent value, and I did learn some new skills. If this had been my first visit I would probably have been delighted. However, .... I first attended a weekend 8 years ago with John running the show, then a day with Nick... More

2nd visit to the Cook school - the first visit was several years ago and it was the meat course that included a take home pork pie. This visit was all about shellfish and it was fantastic from start to finish. Tristan was our chef and we was excellent - showing us how to cook a lobster and open scallops.... More

It was our second visit so we new what to expect and were not disappointed. The coffee and shortbread are an excellent way to start the day. When chatting to the other people over the first coffee of the day it's amazing to discover just how many are returning for a second, third or forth visit. I would not be... More

My partner was bought £400 worth of gift vouchers and called to book the two of us on a course and was told, in a very off-hand manner, that they had expired and were no longer valid. He had been on a previous course and feels very let down that the gift vouchers had an expiry date on them! They... More

Went to Nick Nairn's cook school yesterday for a day course learning about meat and how to debone chicken etc.and from the offset the day was absolutely brilliant. As someone who was a bit sceptical as to what to expect I need not have worried. Tea and coffee and home made shortbread was the best way to start the day... More

My girlfriend and I both received a voucher as a gift and chose the Simply Shellfish course which we feel was a great decision! We were greeted on arrival with a nice cup of coffee and shown the facilities. Our chef Tristan and his assistant Sean then introduced themselves and took us through to the kitchen where Sean gave us... More

For a terrific day of great food which you've cooked yourself, a day at the Nick Nairn Cookery school is a must. Set on the shores of the beautiful Lake of Menteith, Nick himself demonstrates the three course menu which you will go on to prepare and enjoy. A mixed class of beginners and slightly more advanced 'home chefs' are... More

a group of 10 of us booked a day at this cook school - we, and around 20 others, had a very enjoyable, and instructive day at this cook school - some lecture / instruction time, then practicals - de-boning a chicken leg, stuffing it, cooking it, making a sauce - making a black pudding rostti, which we then ate...
