Get there early and wear comfy shoes. If you have to park at the bottom lot, you will have a moderately strenuous walk ahead of you because there's no shuttle on concert days. They have good there if you get a late start. Awesome acoustics in the cave.

The wild tour was very challenging. I thoroughly enjoyed it but was surprised at the level of difficulty. I went with my Girlscout troop. A couple of 6 and 7 year old girls went and did great. The 11 year old girls loved it. The moms who went were challenged by the course. If you are out of shape or... More

The cave is so beautiful and unique and if you happen to be there when Bluegrass Underground is going on, it is an additional unique experience for the whole family.

Cave of the Dead... Haunted Caverns was a great new experience. Wanted to do something different for Halloween & this certainly was. The 'tour' itself was not as long as I expected, but it was well worth it. If you are looking for a different frightening experience, then this is for you!

Awesome cave system with many levels for different levels of skill and exertion. We took the basic tour. Easy walking, minimal climbing, huge rooms with no small spaces or crawling. Gave a great sense of the overall cave sytem and what the other level tours would be like. They offer an age 12 and up, age 16 and up as... More

Stumbled across these caverns as we were driving. Saw a sign for the caverns and drove through the countryside until we found them. It was a lovely drive but I was starting to get nervous that we weren't gonna find them. Had no idea that these were the caverns that held the Underground Bluegrass concerts. That's pretty awesome in and... More

We took a tour of the caverns as part of the Bluegrass Underground concert series. The paths are dangerous and poorly graded; my wife fell down at one point. The tour guide was not particularly interesting, going off on personal reflections at one point for far too long. We also expected the caverns to have pretty multicolored features, and that... More

Cumberland Caverns is a privately owned, commercial property. They have concerts once a month, and the day we were there, they were driving golf carts, and old military Jeeps in and out of the caverns to set up. There was a strong exhaust odor because of this, and we had to step out of the way several times as they... More

Very interesting place! Its a constant temp year round making it perfect to visit anytime of the year, The guide was very knowledgeable and made the trip exciting and fun. Its a physical walk with some climbing but I would say its pretty accessible for almost anyone, there's even a bathroom inside the cave! My 5 year old did just... More
