the house was beautiful, interesting and the grounds were stunning. Would recommend a visit it has a coffee shop and walks in the grounds, unfortunately the gift shop was closed due to refurb but this did not spoil the enjoyment of the visit.

the citysightseeing bus tour was not very good for me. one good thing was you could use your ticket on the local buses after.

Enjoyed the beautiful scenery and very friendly people. Fantastic place to visit. Really enjoyed the Waverley steam boat which was a brilliant experience and is a must for anyone visiting the islands.

This bus was everything we needed on our short trip to the Isle of Bute. We were only there for half a day and getting on this bus trip was great as it took us all over the island, telling us about the local towns, attractions and information. Do not forget your camera as you have some of the most... More

We payed nine ponnds each for the bus tour that lasted about an hour and a half was very informative and we had a lovely day of sunshine which made the open top bus tour so pleasant if I go back to rothesay I would hire a bike to visit the beaches,

Spent an afternoon - after a great visit to Mount Stuart - re-visiting somewhere I knew from childhood.Maybe the Hebrides (and Arran and,to a lesser extent, Millport) have spoiled me but I wasn't impressed with Bute. Some of Rothesay looked like Shettleston-on- Sea, a very depressing , dirty looking town of tawdry shop fronts, suprisingly over-built and with pubs that looked... A 35 minute ferry ride (only £8 return) takes you to paradise! Once on the island get a local bus and discover for yourself this wonderful island with its rolling hills, lush pastures, shady woodland and wildlife (Eagles, Otters, Seals, Gulls, Wild Fowl and wild flowers). We spent a lot of our time choosing which house we wanted to buy... More

I paid £5 for a concession ticket, it was worth every penny! The local buses alone cost around £4 return. With a city sightseeing ticket you can hop on and off, and even use the ticket on the local buses too. The bus takes you around the whole island, showing you the best sights. The only downside is that I... More

The 35 minute ferry trip from Wemyss Bay to Rothesay (£8 per person return) is a delight - the ships are modern, clean and comfortable - but , if you are only going for the day and, to be honest, a day is probably all that is necessary to enjoy what the island has to offer, then the return cost... loved the views from the bus. The only dissappointment was that the bus did not go right into Kilchatten Bay
