Jura isn't the most accessible distillery to get to, but it is worth it. The island itself is very friendly and the tour was great Danielle was our tour guide and she was very informative and entertaining. One of the better tours that we have been on.

Our guide Fiona was lovely and friendly she made our trip very memorable. The whisky tasting was exceptional. Plenty of samples. The location was just beautiful and we had a lovely lunch in the restaurant next door where the staff were very helpful and friendly This location is a very worthwhile visit. The history of the distillery was fascinating.

Great whisky, friendly people, nice lunch at the restaurant...you want to do this. Just the ferry ride and drive to the distillery is worth the trip.

If you are going to take the risk of taking several ferry rides and a long drive through deserted moorland you wouldn't want to arrive at the distillery that didn't feel warm and welcoming. Worry not ... the distillery and indeed pretty much anyone you meet on the Island is as friendly as you could hope for. The distillery is... More

Scotland is the home of malt whisky and Islay and Jura are certainly known for their own particular style. Jura Whisky is one which may not be well know yet it is a dram well worth trying and once you have it could become a favorite. The distillery is small, in keeping with a Island whose population is only around... More

I have enjoyed Jura single malt for many years - one of my faves. So coming to Jura to see the place itself has long been on the bucket list. A bit of a dull day and we had tried, unsuccessfully, to book on the tour, as requested in the brochure, but no one would answer the phone on previous... More

Having thoroughly enjoyed the delights of Islay whiskies, we made a day visit to the island of Jura. Arriving into Craighouse, the main centre on the island the forest two places you see are the juraDistillery and the Jura Hotel. The reception staff for visitors to the distillery were very friendly and very knowledgeable about the range of Jura whiskies.... More

Having read a few of the other reviews, I can only assume that the guide earlier in 2013 was a different one. I had my tour in August 2013 and our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. I've been to all Islay distilleries and some of them several times. They are all different and I agree that the Jura tour is... More

This is a strange fish to describe. Although I have to admit the weather at Craighouse was really sunny on the day of our visit and the setting was quite picturesque, the tour was one of the worst I have experienced, despite the fact it was free of charge. Just before we set off, the staff turned a pair of... More
