I've played Braemar three times now, and it has become a firm favourite. The sign outside the clubhouse says it's the highest golf course in the UK, and it is also one of the most scenic, surrounded by mountains in a peaceful location with several streams and the River Clunie featuring prominently. Given where it is, the course is surprisingly... More

This is a delightful Golf Course and it challenges, even though on paper it seems quite short. It is essential that any player thinks and plots his way around the course rather than just trying to hit the ball as far as possible. The course is well prepared and the greens good but with some significant challenges. The manger is... More

Visited Braemar golf club today. We were staying at the delightful Braemar caravan park and armed with the £10 off vouchers took ourselves to the club on Monday morning. Although it was cold, windy and rain threatened we were welcomed warmly and at £16 per head for a round of 18 holes with the vouchers we were determined to make... More

The atmosphere of the "restaurant" is very spartan and loveless, and the food was pitiful. The waitress was lovely though, but I wouldn't go there again.

We recently played the course which was in great condition and then met as a larger group for evening dining in the clubhouse. We receieved a warm welcome on both occasions - the staff were genuinely engaging and the club had a really good busy vibe. The choice for dining was excellent with good quality locally sourced fare with the... More

The course design is disappointing. A lot of holes are very flat and in what seems like a flood plain. One or two only are good, both par threes. There are artificial ridges to make it a wee bit more of a challenge. And a couple of ridiculous approaches to greens way above the fairways. Might be ok for an... More

A lovely golf course style restaurant. Menu with plenty of choices, advise making a reservation due to sporadic opening times.
