We went on the one day Skye Bus tour during Easter with Bill as our guide/driver. It started out a bit late as we waited for some last minute passengers but everyone was quite relaxed. At the Fairy Pools, Fairy Glen and Neist Point - be prepared for a bit of hiking/climbing. It was quite muddy on the path to... More

I had this tour on the shortest day of the year(the winter solstice) and in rainy weather. Despite these obstacles, Bill made our trip very enjoyable and regaled us with stories about Scotlands past. For me the highlight was the Neist point , even in the bad weather the view was breathtaking. I would recommend Bill tours especially in winter... More

We previously did the 4 day Skye & Inverness Tour with this company. To date, it has been the only vacation experience that my husband and I really wanted to do again. This year, we came back with my husband's parents for a 2nd go-round. Our 2nd experience was as good as the first! We saw some new sites as... More

Dear Nory of Heartland Travel / Real Scottish Journeys, How much do we adore thee? Let us count the ways. 1/ Your dramatic deep voice and your deep knowledge telling us the history, folklore of Scotland, of the Highlands, of love, of patriotism, of madness - brought mountains, lochs, glens, villages, imaginary monsters to life! 2/ Your love and passion... Real Scottish Journeys is the best way to experience the highlights and hidden gems of the Highlands that you won't see on other tours. On the 4 day Classic Skye and Inverness Tour, Bill makes Scotland come alive with his storytelling, music, and deep knowledge of Scotland's history, folklore, and culture. This active tour stops at well known landmarks, but... More

Our family (myself, husband and two teenage kids) took the 4 day Classic Skye and Inverness Tour. It was by far the best tour any of us have ever taken! Bill, the owner / guide is a delightful wealth of information tempered with an engaging mix of storyteller, intermittently sharing myths and legends, along with a passionate historian and a... More

I came on the tour with high expectations--since Scotland is renowned for its beautiful landscape. Indeed, Bill brought us to tour the beautiful sights. However, he certainly brought life to the landscape with his narrations of the history and stories of these sights. Well done!

My daughter and I took the three-day Skye tour, and it was wonderful. Bill is thoughtful, knowledgeable, kind, and funny--the perfect guide. I traveled with my daughter, who was six at the time, and not only was the trip kid-friendly, but Bill was a great judge of which activities were appropriate for her. Everything about this trip was fantastic.

We recently had the pleasure of joining Bill, for one of his tours to Skye. This was the best tour we have ever done. Bill is friendly, knowledgeable and funny - his enthusiasm for Scotland is infectious. Don't laugh too hard at his jokes - it only encourages him. If you want to see Skye and have a great time...
