Due to the distance between us in Cambridge and Skye we have not visited for a couple of years but we do sponsor a number of animals there. This is a small attraction, with a big heart. Given that it takes in animals from the airports and members of the public it is not given any support from Customs or... More

We popped in whilst staying in the Isle of Skye, and though we were expecting something quite a bit bigger, we weren't disappointed and did manage to spend quite a while there. The staff made it worthwhile really, hats off to them! The lady there was really wise about the creatures and seriously knew her stuff! If you hang around... More

Stopped here while wandering Skye. I have always had an interest in reptiles, especially chelonia and, with a daughter who works as a conservationist with turtles, how could I not go in? It's small but, being shown around by the bouncingly enthusiastic employee (owner?) the visit was much longer and probably more informative than it may otherwise have been unaccompanied.... More

This is quite small and run for the love of serpents rather than as a zoo. Having said that, the staff were very friendly and very knowledgeable about their residents. I was expecting something bigger rather than one ( largeish) room with about 12 tanks. There was the option to hold a snake if you wanted too. Good coffee shop... More

I am not a great fan of snakes but after a visit here I have thawed (slightly). The staffs enthusiasm is deeply infectious. They are all well informed and pass on their knowledge in such a way that makes it an enjoyable experience. The kids loved it and came home with shed snake skins from the gift shop. We will... More

We had no previous interest in the reptile world but decided to have a look as it seemed so unusual amongst the other tourist attractions on Skye and we were really glad we did. Billy was informative, interesting and enthusiastic. We learnt why the various reptiles had found their way there, the marvellous work the Serpentarium does to look after... More

I have driven past this so many times over the years and, I think, dismissed it as "for kids" I was wrong! It is small but packed with interesting stuff, both the reptiles and the depressing contraband which means many of them are endangered. The staff are incredibly enthusiatic about their work and very knowledgable. Well worth a visit.

This is a small organisation that takes in snakes, reptiles, turtles etc that have been brought to them for various reasons. We found it very informative the young gentleman gave us a description and reason as to why each animal was there and explained any question related to these animals. It is purely a voluntary place relying on donations so... More
