Our second trip with Sea Life surveys - last one ten years ago - this time went on the family trip with an eleven year old and a seven year old. Weather was miserable but really enjoyable experience all the same. No dolphins or whales this time unfortunately but plenty basking sharks seals and sea birds. Great view of a... More

We went on a Whalewatch explorer trip around 3 or 4 weeks ago. Due to the time of year (mid-September) I was a wee bit sceptical as how much we'd see. However, almost as soon as we'd left Tobermory harbour we were treated to the sight of a white-tailed eagle swooping down and plucking an eel (or a similarly elongated... More

Went on the Whalewatch Explorer trip in July, an all day trip which was well worth the money. A very personal trip, only a few on board and the crew, who were very knowledgeable and friendly, were eager to share their wisdom with you to ensure you have a good experience. Saw Minke whales which was a first for us,... More

We have recently been on our 4th (or is it 5th?) trip with Sea Life Surveys and as usual, we were not disappointed. I say this not because this particular trip was very rewarding (we've had one that wasn't, but you win some and you lose some), but because the Sea Life crew always goes out of its way to... More

Boat trip out into the Mull and the edge of Coll. The crew were very informative and we were rewarded with an amazing 25 minutes of dolphins playing in the wake of the boat. Seals off Coll were very inquisitive and we also saw Golden eagles off Ardnamurchen. On the way back we were delighted to see bottlenose dolphins with... More

Booked on the full day whale watch trip - 7 hours on the sea looking for for wildlife. Crew were fantastic, talking about the local area and the types of things we could see whilst we get on our way. Sadly no whales this trip but lots of other things such as Common Dolphins - they followed the boat for... More

Arrived without a booking at the quayside, but space available. Lunch is not provided, so quick skip over to the Coop for sandwiches. Safety briefing and introduction to our skipper and wildlife guides for the day. The sea was calm and the weather fair as we experienced some of nature's wonders. The common dolphins were just breathtaking as they swam... More

Okay I know that I don't go out on the boat. To be honest, I am a fair-weather sort of sea-girl, but the reason for me writing a review is that I want to say a thing or two. Although we began this business 30 odd years ago, it faced many opportunities to sink over the years, as all small... More

Went out on the boat with Sealife Surveys on three trips in August 2014. Highly enjoyable. Saw a minke whale, quite a few basking sharks, loads of seals, eagles, otter, and lots of seabirds. Crew were great - friendly, enthusiastic, well-informed, and with very sharp eyes. Lunchtime we moored up in the Cairns of Coll which is probably the most... More

Another brilliant whale watching trip with The Sula Beag Team. 7 glorious hours of sea and sky searching which was rewarded with sea eagles, basking sharks, minke whale, seals, porpoises and wonderful sea birds in abundance. The team are brilliant and knowledgeable. The volunteer staff really know their stuff, always good to see Andy and Euan, whose spotting skills are... More
