This was our 4th or 5th experience of Ultimate Shetland. That in itself tells you what a fantastic experience it is. Each time has been so different in so many ways and each time we have learned more about wildlife. The trip provides intellectual stimulation as well as a feast for the senses: Shetland is a wild and beautiful place... More

From start to finish Shetland Wildlife was a pleasure to deal with. Easy booking process via online and telephone. The knowledge and expertise of the guides (Hugh and David) was exceptional and nothing was too much trouble. In fact this was the best organised wildlife trip I have ever been on. From the moment we landed in Shetland until we... More

We spent a fantastic week watching wildlife with the expert guidance of David Lindo and Hugh Harrop. There were otters, seals and so many seabirds. A boat trip to Noss, the Puffins at Sunburgh Head and hearing drumming Snipe are memories that will stay with me. Well worth the effort to get there by train and ferry.

A wild life holiday that fulfills so many ambitions. Rare birds, "common" birds, mammals and flora. Fantastic time spent with knowledgeable guides, in hospitable hotels visiting some of Shetlands special places. We were rank amateurs at wildlife holidays and couldn't have been made more welcome by the guiding staff, but the rest of the group as well. Shetland is a... More

For a successful nature photography trip, you need a leader who is an excellent Naturalist and Photographer and has the communication skills to make it meaningful. Hugh has all of these and more. This was a small group and we had great fun all the way as well as fantastic photo opportunities and chances to learn. If you get the... More

Shetland had always been on my wish list to visit and the programme offered by Shetland Wildlife seemed to provide an ideal opportunity to combine my interests in both birds and photography. My expectations of the holiday were more than realised at the end of a most enjoyable and instructive week. Communication with Shetland Wildlife prior to my visit was... More

We had looked forward to this trip for months and it didn't disappoint. Organisation = excellent, locations = amazing. Guide = something else! Hugh's excitement at seeing the Phalarope (not to mention the white billed diver) was so much fun - indeed his enthusiasm, knowledge and all round expertise really made the trip for us - not to mention the... A fantastic holiday from start to finish filled with warmth, humour, expertise and enthusiasm. I would highly recommend Shetland Wildlife and our guide, Hugh, ensured we optimised all opportunities to see the wildlife and any rarities including an egret and corncrake! He couldn't do enough to ensure we had everlasting memories of our experience. We saw 84 different bird species... More

Excellent admin of booking etc., with great willingness to help with minor and major hiccoughs. Very approachable team. Guide excellent, knowledgeable and helpful. Catering etc. excellent too and (on Fair Isle) endearingly quirky! Every effort made to ensure we were given the best opportunoties possible to enjoy the whole experience and see the maximum amount of wildlife. Going back after... More

This was my first overseas trip with Shetland Wildlife and it will not be my last. The pre-trip information was very comprehensive and useful. The organisation was tremendous. It was great not to have to check in on-line beforehand; this was done for you and the boarding passes handed to you at the airports by Judd the leader. It was... More
