Myself and my son took a beautiful Autumn trip with David Urquhart Tours along Scotlands wild Noild moorlandrthern Coastline from John o Groats to Durness through wild moorland and breathtaking mountain scenery. Worth a visit is Smoo Cave with its atmospheric lighting and stunning underground waterfall. Also worth a look is Scotlands most northerly point Dunnet Head where a variety... More

An amazing spectacle as you descent the steps down towards the enormous cave mouth. Access is well maintained, we loved crossing the wee bridge into the roar of the waterfall cavern. Our camera was worn out as the cave is a photographers treat. One of the best places we saw on the North Coast.

Unfortunately on the day we visited the tour was cancelled due to flooding, but no worry if this is the case when you visit there,s still the walk down which is enjoyable good views then when you get to the cave mouth you can enter the first chamber for free and see the enormity of the cave and the massive... You can just imagine what a great place for smuggling this cave might have been in centuries past. A great place to stop and explore. The very cool waterfall inside is a great place for a photo. A little bit of a descent and climb back out but well worth it.

stumbled on smoo cave on a weekend trip across the highlands. what a special and stunning place. The cave is just breathtaking...the boat tour at £4 a person was not on when we were there but seems good value and i would go back again just to do it. Put it on your list of things to see,

We stumbled across this cave by accident and I'm so glad we did!! It's incredible. The underground waterfall was fantastic.

if you'd like to see how water works the rocks and sand shores, then have a stroll into this cave. than get back to daylight and enjoy the cliffs and rocky shores just outside.

Hard climb and descent if you're not fit, but the waterfall inside is so beautiful that the effort is worth it!
