Description: Experience Scotland's Oldest Working Distillery Recently named Whisky...
Experience Scotland's Oldest Working Distillery Recently named Whisky Visitor Attraction of the Year, Scotland's oldest working distillery offers a truly unique and authentic experience to visitors. Set in the heart of Perthshire, the distillery is only an hour from Glasgow and Edinburgh.  Making whisky by hand and by heart since 1775, visitors will experience the traditional handmade distilling processes that have been used to craft the whiskies at Glenturret Distillery for generations. Discover how the distillery's Glenturret single malt is carefully blended with other grain and malt whiskies to create the UK's No.1 whisky, The Famous Grouse.  Choose from a range of tour experiences. Sample a selection of fine whiskies in our Tasting Experience, enjoy exclusive entry to our bonded warehouses in the Warehouse Experience and blend your own whisky during an in-depth Blending Experience.  Taste our best in the newly launched Wilde Thyme at Glenturret cafe and restaurant where you will savour mouth-watering dishes created using local, seasonal ingredients including Strathearn Pie, a special dish created in honour of the recent Royal Visit of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.  And be sure to visit our unique and welcoming shop. We stock a full range of superb single malts and blended whiskies including distillery exclusives such as the Bottle Your Own Glenturret single malt which you can bottle straight from the cask. Whether you are looking for a unique distillery tour, a very special warehouse experience, or even the opportunity to blend your own whisky, Glenturret is the only distillery in Scotland able to offer a truly authentic, traditional whisky making experience.

I was disappointed :( My belly pork arrived cold/ to warm with 3 or 4 very small match stick green beans , very small thin slice of fennel, few very tiny carrots and one other veg which could have been swede and a dessert spoon of mash . The lovey young waitress was very surprised when I told her my... More

An excellent and informative visit. It was a spur of the moment decision to go but very pleased we went. The tour was extremely informative, historically and of course being a working distillery the process of distilling whisky. We were lucky as to being the only couple on the tour and therefore the guide was most attentive and indeed very... More

Arrived at Glenturret on a grey early spring day in March. Straight to the restaurant for a delicious 2 course lunch - with the best slow cooked beef I have tasted in a while followed by warming Ginger Grouse - fiery wee ginger beer with a hint of Grouse. Distillery tour round the oldest working distillery in Scotland with great... More

We had a voucher that we won in a raffle for a distillery tour and three course meal for four. The staff were very friendly and very knowledgable. The meal in the Wild Thyme restaurant was one of the best meals I've ever had! The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Although we weren't paying we looked at... More

One of us has arthritis - the tour has stairs - so one of us did the tour which was excellent, informative and included a wee dram! The other wandered around the excellent gift shop, the outside and enjoyed the dram which the tourer didn't want!!! Thus we both had an enjoyable few hours ... and the coach trip was... More

Dumbed-down though not unpleasant visitors' experience at The Famous Grouse. If you always wanted to visit an authentic Scottish whisky distillery, do not make it the Glenturret Distillery, famous for its part of creating The Famous Grouse (a moderately inexpensive blended whisky that includes several single malts as well as grain whiskies). This is The Famous Grouse Experience, after all... More

Excellent and informative guided tour of The Famous Grouse's Glenturret distillery with a sensory experience and whisky tasting at the end of the tour. There is also a shop and licensed café restaurant to relax over a drink or meal. Toured at 1.30 on Sunday March 8, 2015.

Just outside Crief one will find the very attractive looking Glenturret Distillery. It recently had a refurbishment to its shop and Visitors Centre. Prince William and Kate opened it last year. Single Malt Glenturret was being made as we were shown round the Distillery. The tour is very enjoyable with expert advice given on the making of Malt whisky and... More

situated near Crieff, The Grouse Experience is a worthwhile stop. A tour around the factory followed by tastings and a superb lunch in their restaurant is worth a visit. Afterwards one can purchase whisky and related products in their shop.
