Owner description: Please note: Dewar's Aberfeldy Distillery is closed for tours from Sunday 21st December 2014 (last day open Saturday 20th), reopening at 10am on Monday 5th January 2015. The visitor centre, distillery shop and cafe are also closed during this time. Since 1898 the stills at Aberfeldy have produced a beautifully balanced single malt whisky, celebrated for its heather honey notes. Today this working distillery continues to provide the malt that lies at the very heart of the award winning Dewar's premium blends. Dewar's World of Whisky has reopened following major redevelopment and now features an all new cafe and brandstore! The new cafe boasts a locally sourced menu offering an extensive selection of freshly prepared hot and cold dishes based on the finest ingredients. There is an enhanced dramming bar, which provides a homely yet stylish retreat with hand-crafted furniture, large sofas and a cosy fireplace, the perfect place to sample the range. Tours of the Aberfeldy Distillery take place throughout the day - cask tasting, blending tours and bespoke private tours available. Free parking and foreign language leaflets available.

Just passing through and decided to use the cafe for a snack. Soup and a sandwich well priced for the size of helpings. The cafe is comfortable and is in the main hall of the distillery shop. At the moment, they do not have a bar licence - if you do the distillery trip, you get a free dram at... More

I would recommend a tour to Dewar's World of Whisky. You won't be disappointed. After an enjoyable snack lunch in the shop/bar area we took the standard tour with an excellent guide. The museum is well laid out with plenty to see and hear about. The staff gave us a detailed explanation to the whisky before we sampled. I particularly... More

This was our last stop on a day tour of this area of Scotland. We popped in and purchased some connoisseur passes for the tour. It pays off at the end, wait for it. Our day tour driver got us a private tasting just before we joined a huge busload of people going through the distillery. At the end of... More

Firstly, the place is well laid out and presented. The standard tour includes museum tour, distillery tour and a tasting. The museum is a great way to learn more about the history of the whisky and you also get handheld devices that explain the different displays. Distillery tour was very informative and interesting. Tasting - 25ml tasting of a choice... More

This place is fantastic! Interesting, informative and really well thought out. Really enjoyed the interactive exhibition and the distillery tour by staff who clearly love their job. Discovered a new favourite in the 12 year old double aged... goes down a treat!

Great experience. Sasha our guide for the tour was very nice. She was both knowledgeable and approachable for questions. I have been to quite a few disterilleries in the past and I felt this one explained it the best. Be warned, there were stairs to climb.

We got here late on a Saturday afternoon on the off chance that we could have a look round the shop before closing. To our pleasant surprise we found the place was open for a couple more hours and tours were still available, which we duly decided to do. The tour starts with a short video about Dewars and Aberfeldy... More

I've never much cared for whiskey until I visited this venue, now I'm hooked some terrific brews on offer and I have to say excellent staff who know their stuff. If you just want a taste, a wee dram or several flagons (I fall into the last category) this is the place to start, and if you imbibe as much... More
