Wee visit

Popped into the Watermill for a visit, beautiful building with lots of character. Art gallery, book store and cafe (cafe was very busy). Worth a wee look.

One of our fav places in Scotland for a relaxing coffee and cake. Staff are very friendly, and I guess the book staff will be well informed - they hold an amazing book selection, Borders in miniature - pity Borders did not survive the recession, but seems this place did ! Buy here, don't go to Amazon !!!!

It's so nice to visit an independent book shop that seems to do quite well. This was full of temptation, I could have spent a fortune. As it is, I spent enough. It's a beautiful building, an old stone converted mill, and we spent ages just browsing and then had something to eat in the cafe, which is obviously thriving.... More

Didn't want to leave. Booked B&B with meal. Cannot fault any part of our experience from welcoming hospitality, ambiance, decor, food quality and quantity, high end quality bedroom and ensuite. Professional throughout. Thank you for our experience.

Dropped in with 9 friends for a hot drink this afternoon and was amazed at the range and quality of the teas and coffees on offer. Although we did not have any food, it all looked really nice.

The Watermill has everything you would want in a bookshop: an excellent collection, displayed and arranged in attractive rooms; a cosy café indoors or an airy patio for coffee, lunch, scrumptious Scottish baking, and a good natter or a quiet interlude; a friendly, well-informed staff. In short, if is the quintessential bookshop, a well earned favourite among locals and visitors... More

Enjoyed the Book Shop, a really broad choice of books to browse and read. The cafe was a disappointment ,poor choice of fare, other than soup it was high priced dishes which we found not to be to our taste. My wife also noticed that the cushions provided on the chairs were not particularly clean. Will not re-visit.
