We always visit this truly excellent bookshop when we are in the area. There are 3 floors of books on all subjects, plus music, an art gallery and a coffee shop, as well. I'd give the Watermill 5 stars, but on this occasion the bakery was not very tempting.

The watermill has potential to be a real gem of a bookshop with a lovely coffee shop attached. However the staff were lacking the friendliness I expect in a bookshop and there was a definite air of snootiness about the place. The coffee shop was set up for children in terms of high chairs and a few toys, but menu... More

Really enjoyed visit today to The Watermill. It has first and foremost a great selection of books and maps, some music and puzzles too. It must beef lovely in summer when you can sit in the cafe garden too with the water tumbling by and easily imagine the previous life of the mill. The inner workings, cogs and wheels are... More

The Watermill is a delight for book lovers. For a small shop there is a fantastic selection of books to suit all tastes. They also stock a lovely range of notecards, greeting cards, notebooks and wrapping paper. After a leisurely browse we had coffee and cake downstairs and while we enjoyed what we had, the selection of baking is a... More

Decided to go here after reading some excellent reviews on Tripadvisor and was not disappointed. I knew from the second I walked in the door I was going to love it. The building, the layout, the history, the architecture, the books... It was right up my street! Could have spent a lot longer in here. Had a couple of coffees... More

My wife and I visited this establishment on what must have been one of the worst days of rain, darkness and chill so far this year. What a wonderful surprise it was to enter The Watermill book shop an area of light and warmth. After a quick glance round the upper book shelves we went down stairs into the cafe... More

Visited very recently on a November Saturday afternoon. The whole building was cold , there was no heating on and the stove downstairs was barely smouldering. The cafe in particular was very cold and fellow diners were sitting in anoraks / jackets , ie wearing what they had been wearing outside.Had to quickly eat up and go.Whatever happened to the cosy atmosphere... Once your all full to then take time to wander around there bookstore. I have over time bought many a treasured find of a book. I currently... More

Beautiful building but the bookshop is not very well stocked (we buy a LOT of books) and mostly expensive 'coffee table' art and literature tomes. Café pricy and limited menu but very cosy and attractive

Whenever I visit Aberfeldy I have to visit the Watermilll. This coffee shop / bookshop/ gallery is always inviting. Whether the weather is sunny or cool the ambience is terrific. We drank excellent quality coffee and ate delicious cake while we read our newly purchased books. I could spend a small fortune on books I see on the shelves there.... More
