This was our first visit since last year and there have been a few changes. The shops have grown in size and have been moved around quite a bit. We enjoyed spending time in the art gallery and the garden and other shops and were going to visit the coffee shop but were put off by the prices which were... More

This is a great place to spend a few hours. Its recently beeen altered and upgraded and although it was great before it really has upped its game. The house has some lovely gardens, well worth a gentle walk round. Nearby are longhorn cattle grazing and when we went they had some lovely calves. The plant nursery has those plants... More

We were at the courtyard shops today at Logie Steading (me, my children and my parents). The cafe was excellent and offered a couple of gluten-free choices. We found too many temptations in the well stocked and friendly book shop too! The kids had a lot of fun in the playground across the quiet road. The drive from Forres is... More

Went to see Macbeth by the Illeria players, at Logie Steading the other night. Lovely way to spend an evening, sat outside in the courtyard enjoying a play. Their rendition of 'Babe' last year was hilarious. They are amazingly talented, & Logie is a beautiful place to spend an evening. They have more plays planned there for the summer &... More

thank you very much for writing about Macbeth - and I am so glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for highlighting the problem about the noise from the café - we will certainly make sure that does not happen again. The Illyria actors never cease to amaze me - they are just brilliant always comment on the welcome they get... More

We had trouble finding the place because it's not in Forres as the address says, and it is not sign posted from Forres. But it is well worth the effort to find. The most impressive part of the trip was the gardens. There were a couple of ladies working hard and the results are really lovely, with mature plants, shrubs,... More

Thank you so much for taking the time to write about your recent visit to Logie and I am so glad you enjoyed the gardens. The heat after all the rain has made everything grow and GROW! Yes, the signs from Forres are quite an issue; unfortunately the Roads Department does not allow us to have any signs until near... More

Hi and many thanks for taking the time to write about your recent visit to Logie Steading and I'm glad you enjoyed your visit; the whisky and wine shop is aiming to stock unusual varieties that are only available in specialist independent shops. Their prices are pretty competitive with other local retailers; their knowledge about their products is usually good... More

Delightful place to visit. A gem tucked away just outside of Forres, that has something for everyone. A beautiful river walk that will take you to Randolph's Leap, nice shops, and a superb restaurant. Do not miss the gardens at the main house. Nice play area for children and it is free !

We found Logie Steading last week during a holiday in the area. It is a truly wonderful place. The river walks are magical as is the garden - some very unusual plants including a peony which I have yet to identify! The craft areas are wonderful - be prepared for some serious 'retail therapy'! We had an excellent lunch and... More

I absolutely love that place. I a real find in the area. There are so many lovely posters and decorations that create a special atmosphere! The system of how to get a table didnt really work out - maybe because it was new in place? Great selection of cakes and lovely soup!

Frequently visit The Olive Tree for lunch as food and service always good, unfortunately yesterday's visit was not a good one!! Waited 20 minutes to be served as only one lady taking orders and also making teas and coffees in between each customer! Then a 50 minute wait for sandwiches and soup!!! Waitresses everywhere carrying one bowl of soup at... More

Thank you for writing about your recent visit and I am so sorry that your experience in the café was so very unsatisfactory. The move to the larger premises has come with challenges which, as you rightly point out, need to be addressed. That Saturday was awful - the combination of kitchen staff having to leave through ill health, and... More
