Always wanted to go and had a vision of 100's of butterfly's going about with a lovely gift shop full of butterfly things! But no!! Total waste of time and effort to find the place.. Total waste of money - hugely overpriced and have seen better in my garden - maybe saw about 10 butterfly's in a small hot house... More

While some of the displays are a bit tired, our kids loved seeing the butterflies and meeting the creepier crawlies. It's probably a bit over priced for what you get, and we were amazed at how few butterfly-related toys there were in the gift shop, but overall a good way to spend a few hours.

We visited at the start of the school holidays but it wasn't too busy. This is one of my daughter's favourite places to visit; she loves the snakes and lizards and will happily wander around the butterfly enclosure for hours looking for caterpillars and hidden creatures in the leaves. I love bees so had a great time inspecting the four... More

went today to the butterfly world ... very easy to find and lots of parking, reasonably priced entrance and you can come and go which is great as there is a lot to see and it is very hot inside due to the nature of the attractions ... We went in and went all round the butterfly and moth enclosure... More

This is a good place to go to see butterflies but i did find it a bit tatty at the reptile/insect/ bee bit it could do with a sprucing up, it's worth the entry fee if only for the hands on encounter with a snake millipede and tarantula the guy doing the handling was Kev he was fab! so knowledgeable... We took a group of Rainbows here for their end of term trip. From start to finish they had a great time. The ladies in the shop were very friendly and helpful and Kev, the animal handler, certainly knows his stuff and puts on quite a show. The Rainbows were able to feed the Quails which appeared from nowhere just... More

We love visiting the Butterfly World every time we are in the area. The staff are friendly, approachable and knowledgable. There are a good variety of insects, reptiles and Arachnids! The handling session is always good fun, the staff interact really well with the participating audience - still can't quite believe my 3 year old and I have held a... More

Previous contributors have said it already, but it is a good place for a visit, with children particularly, as it is interesting and educational. Not only children are catered for though - I touched my first snake and held my first tarantula! Educational talks are easy to listen to and the 'hands-on' element is always popular. Staff are helpful and... More

The centre is small, its is not a wildlife park or zoo. There is a butterfly/greenhouse area, turtles, insect, spiders, bees, there are handling and educational talks as well, we had a good visit.
