Very sad to see the place compared to a couple of years ago when I visited last, and it was great. The place looks like it desperately requires an injection of money to put right, and it is not cheap to get in. Very few butterflies around, last time I remember some sort of little birds were running about too,... More

Visiting Scotland for the first time, We were recommend this attraction to visit, and was defiantly were the visit, Good price for entry (which was unlimited entry all day) and then stepping into the jungle the ball of heat certainly hits you but with all the butterfly's floating around your head, ot made the experience very realistic indeed, and then... We've visited this attraction a few times over the years and it seems to have become very run down and looks uncared for. There were only a small range of butterflies flying and the greenhouse was far too dry for the insects. There were also quite a few dead butterflies lying around the floor of the flight area. The bee... More

My second visit to the Butterfly and Insect World, took our three grandchildren who all love creatures, large or small. We loved it, the young girl who did a talk and how to handle creatures was really excellent, great with the creatures and the kids. She actually gave me the confidence to touch a snake, something I have been terrified... More

Quite expensive to get in and although there were quite a few insects and reptiles to see you couldn't spend too much time in there due to the heat- only spent about 20-30 mins so expensive for a family of 5. The outside bee area is very run down and shoud be closed to the public until its either refurbished... More

we took the kids here in the Easter holidays. it was good value for money. The kids got to hold a tarantula and a snake, and got lots educational talks from the friendly staff. Only downside was it was very busy and was difficult to move in the crowds with a buggy especially in the education part.

2 years since I last visited this attraction, has got better! \lots to see, much better insect and reptile part, all the animals look well cared for and healthy. Ideal if you are a photographer looking to take something different , especially on one of those common wet Scotland days! Keep a sharp eye out for the leafcutter ants at... More

We decided to visit here on our way back home after our holiday in Edinburgh. My four year old is mad on butterflies so it was ideal for us. The entrance fee is very reasonable. We were greeted by various breeds of butterflies as we walked through the door luckily we had bought an identification guide (only £1) so we... More

A lovely place - beautiful butterflies and good selection of reptiles/spiders. Area in enclosure very moist - does make taking photographs quite challenging!

Stopped off here on the way back home to the North East from Glasgow. Had been meaning to go for a while! Feels like your in a rainforest inside with the butterfly's and it's great to see them all fly around you and land on you! Kids will really enjoy it (and adults too!)
