This is very warm inside and the butterflies fly all around you. looking closely at the leaves of all the plants you discover caterpillars of all sizes and chrysalis's in various states. We also came across stick insects on some of the plants! the insect room contains many different varieties of snakes and spiders and frogs. we were able to... More

Lovely tranquil place to visit and beautiful exotic butterflies to see. Right next to Dobbies Garden Centre, so a whole day can be spent between these two places.

A fun and interesting morning at Butterfly World. On arriving we received a laminated leaflet telling us about the butterflies- we also got our hand stamped so we could come/go all day. Inside was hot and humid with lots of beautiful butterflies flying around. Our son LOVED the little bridge and waterfall. The large fishes were also a hit although... More

What a fantastic afternoon we spent here. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Really good value too, as it's situated on 'Dobbies' site, abd once you've paid entry and had your hand 'stamped', you can come in and out all day. The butterflies are stunning and we learned loads about reptiles, spiders and wasps too. The keeper who did the... More

We went to Butterfly World having been given a voucher as a gift. Once inside, it felt like being in the tropics- warm and humid. It was l I very to see a huge range of many beautiful butterflies of many different species as shown on the laminated sheet, though there were fewer butterflies in the enclosure than we anticipted.... This is a great place to visit and the guy doing the animal handling is just excellent a huge asset to this business. The time knowledge and enthusiasm shown by the male staff member doing the animal handling was faultless he ensured everyone got to handle the reptiles and even allowed for individual photos at the end. The butterflies were... More

Cant believe we came here for a team bonding session. So out of the ordinary. Was pleasantly surprised, it was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed the day out and got over my fear of flying flappy things lol.

We have had a lovely time in the small tropical world full of butterflies and some little birds! It said on the website, that they have over 30 types of butterflies and moths, and with our inexpert eye, we found and recognized around 25 different species! Had a nice walk through reptile room, and saw some pretty impressive beehives! Staff... More

This was a great place to go with kids. Mine aged between 16-4 years and all really enjoyed themselves. It was great walking round with the butterflies flying about you and sometimes landing on you. We got some brilliant photos as some of the butterflies are amazing. Once youve paid and had your hand stamped you can pop in and... More

The kids have been with grandparents a couple of times but I'd never visited,so seeing as the weather was changeable on a Saturday in August I suggested we go. As I said I'd never been so the almost £25 pound family entry and the £1 "guide book" it certainly ain't a book or even a pamphlet come to think of... More
