First of all, I don't drink whiskey. So for years we drove past the big sign on Hwy 65. This year we decided to vist attractions along the way when visiting my family in Alabama. Glad we did, well worth the stop. Tour is free, you can pay for the tasting one, lasts about and hour and of the distillery... More

Had the opportunity to have Jesse James give us a tour of the Distillery. He did a great job and we learned so much. The tour was relaxed and unrushed.

There is a very good reason one pays a premium price for this Tennessee whiskey. We toured the facilities and were very impressed in the quality and pride that goes into this beverage. We waited about an hour to go on the tour and it was well worth the wait. Our guide was very informative and was just as passionate... More

Visited here decades ago and it has been upgraded. Still has a lot of walking and STAIRS but we managed in the heat. We are mid 60's and bad hips knees etc. :-) We were very lucky to see all of the operation in process, sometimes some areas are on break or not working that day , but does not... More

Not only is it a great tour, it has free parking and there is no charge for the tour. The tour guides are friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the tour.

We went on July 4th. So there was no buying alcohol or sample tours. Which honestly was just fine with us. (I am prego!) Our tour guide was hilarious and full of info. I want to say her name was Courtney, but I could be wrong. (prego brain) I have been a Jack Daniel fan for years. In college I... More

OK I'm not so keen on the whiskey itself but the tour is good. Well run visitors centre, first come first serve basis for the sampling tours. We arrived at 9:50 on a Friday and got the last 2 places on the 10:30 tour. Interesting that almost everything is done on site - from making charcoal, mashing, distilling, filtering and... More

This was our last stop on our Tennessee Whiskey/Whisky Trail weekend. We went from small (Corsair Distillery in Nashville) to larger (Short Mountain in Woodbury) to larger (George Dickel) to the Big Boys in Lynchburg. DeeDe did a great job on this easy walking tour of the country's oldest registered distillery. Do not pass up the opportunity to visit this... More

This is a great tour, but be aware you will do some walking and lately, it has been hot. The guide takes you through the entire process from the source of water to fermenting process to moving the product throughout the plant. All pipes are visible at all times. It is a dry county. This is our second visit over... More
