All the family had a wonderful afternoon at Crail Golfing Society. Hauntingly beautiful setting by the sea. The course is in immaculate condition, the tees, fairways and greens are true links, very beautiful. I got the best ball marker at the pro shop that I´ve ever had. They were very friendly with our four ball consisting of a 12yr old... More

Balcomie is a very short, super windy course with some of the toughest greens I have ever seen. We played the championship tees to get over 6,000 yards of play but DON'T DO IT unless you are REALLY GOOD. Getting to the green is not the challenge on this course... it is short game. You need to be a great... More

Crail Golfing Society has two courses: the 1895 Balcomie Links--a must play destination for your Scottish vacation--laid out by Old Tom Morris, and the longer, modern Craighead course designed by Gil Hanse. Craighead is a tough track with very good views, but Balcomie is brilliant, fun, and has spectacular views. For the price, Balcomie gives Kingsbarns and the Castle Course... More

We are two couples on a golf vacation and we are all so happy we played this course. It is right down the road from Kingsbarns and has fantastic views of the sea. The course is very challenging and much tighter than Kingsbarns. We had a breezy day to play and that added a wonderful challenge to our games. The... More

The Balcomie course runs along the coastline with wonderful views across the Tay Estuary in the distance. It is a wonderful holiday treat to play golf on this old links which can trace its roots back to 1786, especially if the sun is shining and the east wind does not blow. It is kept in very good condition with petrol... More

We played the Craighead course on 09/07/2014. Weather was fantastic, sunny with very light wind. Apparently, these are unusual conditions. Played from the yellow tees. The course is well maintained. The greens in particular are tricky and fast. Wasn't so keen on the fairways, which had a meadow type feel to them, not the tight lies we experienced on other... More

Played the seashore course and found it a delight. Well kept without being manufactured. Stunning clubhouse with friendly staff and reasonably priced food and drink. Not stuffy by any means which can be very off-putting for the visitor. The course is a wee gem, a challenge without being overwhelming or impossible. Wonder what it's like when the wind blows! The... If you're coming to Scotland you have to play here - both courses. A challenge with beautiful views and excellent service all the way from the pro shop to the dining facilities. We've played Kingsbarns up the road several times but for the value and great golfing experience this golf club is the place to be.

Played the Balcomie course twice and enjoyed it very much. The course was in good shape, the members and pro shop/clubhouse staff were all very cordial and inviting and the views on a sunny day are breathtaking! This course is not expensive to play and is a lot of fun, while also presenting a challenge when the wind is up.... More
