Hugely enjoyable golf, splendid clubhouse and warm welcome await at Crail Golfing Society. Founded in 1786 and the seventh oldest golf club in the world, it celebrated its 225th anniversary in 2011. The club has two courses: Balcomie Links, a unique, traditional links laid out by Old Tom Morris, and Craighead Links, a challenging links experience designed by 2009 Golf Course Architect of the Year Gil Hanse.

Fun and with great ocean views!

loved playing Crail on a recent trip to Scotland, not as difficult as many other courses but very scenic with top ocean views. Highly recommended.

Being my first visit to Scotland to see The Open, it was always a dream of mine to play golf in Scotland. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to play Balcomie the day following The Open thanks to the Crail Golfing Society reservationist being able to change my tee time from Monday to Tuesday due to the Open being... Our golfing party of 4 had beginner and experienced golfers and we all had a great time. From Oklahoma, we typically drive carts but we reserved electric trolleys and walked about 7 miles yesterday, and today, we feel pretty good! Links course by the sea, it was beautiful and challenging. Our forecaddie Bil was a very spry 77 year old.... More

A must to do. Wonderful course that challenged us at times. Wonderful to walk on the course to see panoramic sea views. Course in great condition. From arrival to departure it was a great day. Club food was fantastic served by Allan. He was a delight. Highly recommended to visit even if your not a golfer. Just go for lunch... More

What can one say, a must for any golf nut, you will not be disappointed. A very warm friendly welcome from the pro to the bar staff, most accommodating and the course itself is splendid. The Balcomie course was the one chosen and from hole 1 to 18 the design, the panoramic sea views as well as the challenging holes... More

Played Craighead for the first time in a few years, and it is really developing into a great option for visitors to the area. The course is in good condition and the greens are running true. Fab clubhouse as well - can thoroughly recommend.

We played Balcomie (the old course) on a Monday in May. It is really one of the nicest courses I have played, and it is highly recommended if you are a golfer visiting Scotland. It has some really spectacular holes, like the aptly named Hell Hole which offers you a knee-shaking tee shot. Clubhouse is fantastic with good facilities and... More

Great vibe - lovely courses and classy clubhouse. Stay at nearby Balcomie Links Hotel. The experienced was fueled by the ongoing Ryder Cup event and what a thing to sit in the restaurant between rounds and watch the match play from Gleneagles. Then we went to the finals on Sunday when Europe won the titel!
