I made this trip on Monday afternoon the twentieth of April, hoping to see puffins last seen on Skellig Michael in Co. Kerry. The puffins were mostly in their burrows, out to sea or on their way. But, after a briefing from caretaker Becca we were allowed to wander, keeping to any of many paths. The tranquility and solitude force... More

We had a wonderful day trip on the May Princess to the Isle of May. We booked the day before and collected our tickets on arrival at Anstruther, when we were also given maps and information leaflets about the island. We had picked a glorious day of calm seas and blue skies with virtually no wind, so the hour boat... More

What a fantastic day out we had yesterday when we boarded the May Princess for a trip to The Isle of May in the Firth of Forth. We were greeted by friendly, helpful crew and enjoyed an informative commentary on the way to the isle. You can get a coffee, a snack or a souvenir from the wee shop onboard.... More

We were due to go yesterday but the trip was cancelled. The skipper called in plenty of time and offered a refund or alternative trip. We decided to go today instead and were glad we did. Although it was only the second day of the season we saw lots of puffins both in the sea and on the island. We... More

If you have an interest in nature and remote places then a trip to the Isle of May will not disappoint you. On the day we went the outward crossing was very choppy and quite a number of people experienced sea sickness, but the crew seemed to notice in good time who needed a blue bag! Fortunately the return crossing... More

The staff on board make sure your experience of the magical Isle of May starts before you leave Anstruther and doesn't end until you climb off the boat when you return. Brilliant.

The staff on the boat and at the Visitor centre were very informative and helpful. Great value for money and a must if you are interested in sea birds and wildlife. Loads of other points of interest too- lighthouses, fog horns and the Priory ruins. A wonderful day out-take good walking shoes and a picnic-you may even spot a whale.

My second trip to the Isle of May within two weeks. Beautiful day and trip very smooth. Plenty of puffins on the sea and seals were abundant. We had a lovely picnic in the sun on the west side of the island. Adequate time to walk around the island and to enjoy the peace and quiet. Idyllic setting. I would... More

I travelled out to the isle of may on the 14th of July. As I was going to be working on a project with the island staff I had a lot of gear to transport. I found the staff to be incredibly helpful with loading it on and off the boat and also directing me in a good place to... More

Two days ago a friend and I took the May Princess to the Isle of May. We had booked the tickets via email a few weeks in advance and picked them up on the same day about an hour before sailing time. The boat is fairly small and has mostly seats outside, so I'd recommend taking a coat and maybe... More
