If you have an interest in nature and remote places then a trip to the Isle of May will not disappoint you. On the day we went the outward crossing was very choppy and quite a number of people experienced sea sickness, but the crew seemed to notice in good time who needed a blue bag! Fortunately the return crossing... More

The staff on board make sure your experience of the magical Isle of May starts before you leave Anstruther and doesn't end until you climb off the boat when you return. Brilliant.

The staff on the boat and at the Visitor centre were very informative and helpful. Great value for money and a must if you are interested in sea birds and wildlife. Loads of other points of interest too- lighthouses, fog horns and the Priory ruins. A wonderful day out-take good walking shoes and a picnic-you may even spot a whale.

My second trip to the Isle of May within two weeks. Beautiful day and trip very smooth. Plenty of puffins on the sea and seals were abundant. We had a lovely picnic in the sun on the west side of the island. Adequate time to walk around the island and to enjoy the peace and quiet. Idyllic setting. I would... More

I travelled out to the isle of may on the 14th of July. As I was going to be working on a project with the island staff I had a lot of gear to transport. I found the staff to be incredibly helpful with loading it on and off the boat and also directing me in a good place to... More

Two days ago a friend and I took the May Princess to the Isle of May. We had booked the tickets via email a few weeks in advance and picked them up on the same day about an hour before sailing time. The boat is fairly small and has mostly seats outside, so I'd recommend taking a coat and maybe... More

This is a beautiful island and well worth going to, even if you have a limited interest in the birds. The cliffs and the scenery and the peacefulness of it can't even be described in words. Beware of the boat trip, though - they pack you in like sardines. I would gladly pay twice the amount for half the amount... More

Really glad you enjoyed your time on the Island and gave the overall experience an excellent rating. Sorry you didn't enjoy the boat trip as much. The day in question we had a large group booking on the boat and sometimes they tend to dominate a bit all moving around to mix with each other. Rest assured our total passenger... More

If you are like me and love seeing animals in the wild, I recommend this trip for you. On the approx. 1 hour trip out to the Isle of May, we saw porpoises. On the 3 hour visit to the island, we saw literally THOUSANDS of birds: arctic terns, guillemots, kittiwakes, razorbills, and (my favorite) puffins. The only thing that... More

Thanks for taking the time to post a review. Glad you enjoyed the boat trip, the seabirds and the Island. The Arctic Terns have now quietened down as most of the chicks have fledged. More

First off: if the crew say it's going to be choppy...it's going to be choppy. We didn't really take proper note of that warning and not really being seafaring types...well, I hope the sound effects didn't ruin anyone else's trip. Of course, the (very friendly and reassuring) crew wouldn't have taken us out if it had been dangerous and we... More

Thank you for your review. We do try and advise people if the conditions might not be the best and folk do appreciate that. Really glad that you still enjoyed the overall experience and the seabirds on the Island More

The cruise takes you around the Isle of May and gives you ~3 hours on shore to explore the wildlife. So many amazing birds: puffins, eiders, terns, shags, gannets, razorbills, guillemots. Seals in the water. The staff of the May Princess are fantastic and the volunteers/workers on the Isle are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The new visitor/education centre and toilets... More

Thank you for your kind remarks on the Island and the boat trip. The staff at both ends work hard and appreciate your thanks. The fact that you have now been 3 times says it all. More
