Another great day out visit

A fun day out, though I'm biased as I used to play there as a boy with Andrew McCleery when his mum and dad owned it. You can prowl around the brick works and there used to be an... read more

We've been here a number of times - my daughter calls it the "Seed Duck place" because of the bags of feed you can buy for the birds, as opposed to other places we feed ducks where she can use bread. It's not a huge walk round the park, and there are plenty of ducks / other water fowl to... More

Just been to castle Espie earlier today. Love the New look kingfisher kitchen restaurant. Started with a lovely breakfast and after a few hours bird watching treated ourselves to a great lunch. Look forward to our next visit. Try it for yourself good food, lovely views and friendly helpful staff.

A fun day out, though I'm biased as I used to play there as a boy with Andrew McCleery when his mum and dad owned it. You can prowl around the brick works and there used to be an old tennis court with hut, great fun. The best bit is the walk and wild life, fresh air and views. The... More

The Wildfowl & Wetlands Centre at Castle Espie is 5 minutes from our house and one of those places that we are always determined to visit more than we actually manage. The centre boasts a diverse range of habitats for the birds of Strangford Lough. We were lucky enough to be there at the same time as the bird watching... More

Such a lovely place to visit, the staff are so helpful and there is so much to do and see for all ages! The cafe is brilliant and food is beautiful (if only a little over priced) the seating areas make up for the price however as the views are second to none!

On the shores of Strangford Lough this centre is well worth a visit and if you have children they will enjoy seeing the ducks etc. There are 'hides' where you can watch the various birds in their natural habitat and learn about those who migrate to the lough to winter in the milder climate.

I went with my partner on a Sunday morning and stayed for about 5 hours. There is plenty to see and the cafe though a tad expensive is very good food. I have found it better to go in autumn as there are a lot of birds to see on the shores of strangford lough from the hides and viewing... More

We had coffees and toast on several mornings whilst we were staying nearby. The toasted soda wheaten was delicious especially with some marmalade and the coffee was good. Thanks to Scott for toasting the bread just how we like it and to the rest of the friendly staff.

Thoroughly enjoyed my first visit with a friend who has mobility difficulties. We both have a keen interest in photography. Staff were very welcoming and helpful and made the provision of a mobility scooter so easy for my friend. As a result there were no areas which were inaccessible for us. Well done Castle Espie. Lots of wild birds to... More

A great day out with 2 young children. The wildlife was lovely to see up close. Great layout and design- could spend the whole day there. The best part was the outdoor adventure areas. Children getting back in touch with nature, learning whilst having fun! The staff were very helpful and friendly (even fishing my child's hat out from the... More
