Kids love this place. Good cafe to chat and let the day go by. Very child friendly and informative. For serious watchers there is a hide over looking the mudflats.

We love seeing the geese and ducks and their young, as well as walking round the grounds, but recently the black headed gulls, an endagered species seem to be omnipresent and raucous indeed.

Came here yesterday with 9yo And 4yo and their nanny. Boys had a ball doing wee hunt feeding the ducks. Best time was had in the woodland play area, boys loved it. Two very tired boys last night One happy Mummy ☺

Great place to get up close and personal with birds. For a small fee you can get some seed to feed the ducks, enjoy the fantastic views from the various hides over looking Strangford Lough and lagoons. Food is quite dear, would recommend bringing a packed lunch. Great place to see waders.

Great day out today - arrived just after 1pm and didn't leave until 5pm. Got some food first of all to feed the ducks, then onto a talk from one of the guides about small animals. From there onto the new swamp area which everyone enjoyed (includes a wishing tree and zip line). More play in the woodland area and... More

The Wetlands and Wildfowl Trust Nature Reserve at Castle Espie has an amazing variety of colourful ducks and geese from all over the world. The newly established salt marsh area is developing into an interesting ecosystem. In early spring and autumn, the Brent Geese are passing by in their tens of thousands on the mudflats. The cafe provides good wholesome... More

Brilliant day with duckling tour, started with a scone and coffee walk around and great playtime in new swamp area, kids loved it. Great to see this place getting better! Lunch in cafe with fancy new menu then duckery tour which was amazing. Great day out and we will be back as members next time.

Although Castle Espie is one of my favourite escapes from city life, I was really shocked by the huge number of Black-headed gulls circulating and nesting in the feeding pond enclosure. The noise was really appalling to the extent you couldn't hear the person beside you properly when they spoke, and as we headed out into the larger conservation area,... More

We have been members of castle espie for years. We are big supporters of conservation. It is great to go and spend a day with family, catching up with friends or for cyclists who all seem to converse on a Sunday! It's def worth a visit, you should go!

Great duck pond. Great walk. Finally getting the refurbs it needed. They hold great fun days (eg. Robin hood) and have a gift store/ cafe however these are pricey. You could spend either 30 mins walking around it or 3 hours depending if you explore it all or just go for a walk. Membership is £4-£5 a month or £5... More
