Visited Monkey World one Friday in July and had a great time. The monkeys seem to be very well treated and their enclosures looked very entertaining for them. They looked big enough and diverse enough that you didn't feel uncomfortable that they were being wheeled out for your entertainment. The gibbons (wonderful playful things) were bounding through the trees with... More

Firstly I would like to point out to all the negative reviews on here that this is a place where mistreated apes and monkeys have been rescued and are now having a better quality of life than in the cages they were previously kept in. This is not a place where the animals are performing for your entertainment. It is... More

The age range of our group was one to seventy one and we all found something of interest, although the younger members had trouble locating some of the monkeys as the barriers were a little intrusive. The playgrounds were good and for once we felt that the gift shop was value for money.

Kids were desperate to go to Monkey World so we went along not really expecting much. Was very surprised how good and how big it was. It is NOT like a zoo as in small cages and tight spaces, the monkeys and apes have loads of room which is fantastic to see. Quite a big park, good food and reasonably... More

Great place for families & couples. Well laid out with information about each primate, some sad stories. Second visit, went last year when in the area.

I visited Monkey World with my partner, arriving early in the morning. At that time, the residents are alert and very much engaged with the staff. Later in the day, the place was overflowing with visitors and the residents were quite disconnected. This was in October, not the peak season. I think it's important to fix in your mind that... More

Monkey World is a rescue centre for primates and the work they do here is incredible. Each enclosure has information about the primates including their background and why they ended up at Monkey World (most of the stories are truly horrifying but it's nice to see how far they've progressed etc.) There's a fantastic play area for children and a...
