Love the house and gardens, want to come back and see it through every season. Enjoyed the WW1 exhibition, understated but interesting and poignant. Kitchen garden still had plenty to see in November. Sadly, the food was a let-down and the atmosphere felt somewhat strained . . .

We live just round the corner from here so its great having this facility on the doorstep. Lots of space for walking and plenty of seats for just relaxing. This place is okay in the rain but stunning in the sun. There is a well stocked visitors centre and shop and the obligatory tea room offering home bakes and an... More

Visited here lovely place shame we couldn't see upstairs of the house! National trust should tell you on paying that it is not open and give you a discount! But all in all a nice place enjoyed the kitchen garden even though it wasn't in full bloom (It was expected though as it is November)

The house itself is steeped with history and is truly beautiful to explore. We also spent several hours walking through the vast gardens and parkland. All of which is superbly maintained and incredibly stunning. The coffee shop there is also excellent with good variety and is a nice place to take a pause and soak in the atmosphere. One of... More

I have visited quite a few excellent National Trust properties and gardens this year and Knightshayes Court was no exception. We visited with our 2 children in the October Half Term Holiday and Knightshayes put on a fabulous Halloween Trail for the kids and also amazing decorations throughout the house... Including my favourite, Frankenstein's Monster being created on the billiard... More

We love Knightshayes anyway, it's an amazing property with fantastic gardens, but this was our first visit at Halloween. I was really impressed with the thought put into the halloween theme. Different rooms had themes such as Dracula, Frankenstein, The Phantom of the Opera, The Raven etc. and the quiz kept younger children occupied. A pumpkin hunt took place outdoors... More

We were heading for Cornwall when we saw the National Trust sign on the motorway. Being members it was a new one to 'tick off' and I'm glad we did. We'll have to come back though and see the gardens in full bloom and explore the woods a little more. The house is fascinating for it's décor, and as usual... More

I would agree with a previous review it was disappointing to see parking charges at Knightshayes Court. I understand this is a new initiative so perhaps the National Trust will make customers aware via their website that unless a member there will be an additional charge for parking along with the entrance fee. In view of the fact that it... More

Didn't greatly care for the decor of the house but no doubt it is rare and special. Beautifully maintained and nice Victorian mansion. The best bit was the parklands and both formal and kitchen gardens and they had lovely quality plants for sale. Second was a display on the use of the estate in the second works war. Very moving...
