Flat, mostly straight cycling / walking path for a family day out. Very good for kids as the route doesn't have hills and a car traffic. Only in few places it crosses main road but there are gates so no risk for kids. The little downside, I found it slightly boring. If you want more excitement, the cycling isn't enough.... More

This is a well signposted, fairly flat cycling route with amazing views over the Devon countryside. Highly recommended for families as well as older cyclists. Recommend the cycle hire/tea shop place en route where staff are very friendly and the Bearslake Inn down underneath the viaduct which serves great food, friendly staff and pretty setting.

The granite way is an excellent short bike ride through glorious countryside, despite being high in the hills offering wonderful views through valleys there are no significant inclines or declines making the journey very nice. There are some superb pubs just off the track. Excellent for all ages.

Now completely off road for nine miles this offers fun family riding, walking, or just exploring. Lydford Gorge is a mile from one end and towards the other end an impressive viaduct. Get on your bikes and enjoy

We cycled the path between Okehampton and Lydford. What a joy! We cycle quite a number of former railway cycle paths (thank you so much, Sustrans and the local authorities) and this is by far the best quality surface of those we have done. The new section is possibly the smoothest surface I have ever cycled - no potholes, no... More

This bike ride is not all off road unfortunately but the main roads are pretty quiet. Mostly nice and flat so not to strenuous. Very scenic and some terrific bridges you cross on the way.

Now that the cycle track has been extended it's even better. It's perfect for the whole family and some of the views are beautiful. There are lots of places to stop for a picnic or it is possible to stop and eat at one of the nearby pubs. The trail is reasonable flat and easy going. It can get busy... More

Good fairly level walk..watch out for bikes with no bells swooping up behind you. Lovely views over Dartmoor.
