We stopped here on a Saturday to view the arts and crafts. Some arts were quite beautiful. Some were little better than average but still worth taking a look around. We did not eat here in the tea room because we had already eaten. We found the shop to be clean, creative and worth going out of you way to... More

We spent an hour or so here enjoying cream teas with probably the thickest clotted cream in the World, not to mention the interesting blend of arts and crafts. We loved one huge turned ash bowl so much that we splashed out and bought it for an anniversary present to ourselves. The bowl is now sitting in pride of place... More

Down from Bristol on a mini break in the area we treated ourselves to lunch under an umbrella in the lovely setting of the Terrace Cafe. It was was of the most delicious we have ever savored and we could not fault it. One of us had a juicy pork burger in soft fluffy bread and the other had homity... More

Over the years we have made several visits to this centre. They always have works from at least 80 artists on display, but they are not always from Devon. Some works are from Somerset or Cornwall. According to the centres staff; they vet the craftsmen and artists for their "quality" before providing display space. Items on display range from ceramics... More

We recently visited and have to say that although it is set in a lovely area and building, and the café was clean with good food and service, the crafts unfortunately were quite average. Some pottery pieces looked literally as if it had been made by novices. 30% of the pottery was very nice, though the amount of pottery on... More

After a long drive up from Cornwall this is the perfect place to stop off for some good food and a chance to recuperate. The craft displays are lovely ~ sadly way out of my price bracket. If they were to consider all price brackets they might have more visitors.

Just a few months back there was much to be less than enthusiastic about. Change is evident upstairs in the restaurant/cafe and we thoroughly enjoyed lunch. Tasty, fresh and so much better. There must be new hands on the tiller. Downstairs, not much has changed, the displays include much of what was and seemingly always has been there. However, I... More

The Devon Guild of Craftsmen place at Bovey Tracey has one of the widest range of craft made articles you could wish for - pottery, glass, wood, jewelery, clothing, ......... Whilst the prices are not 'cheap' then neither are the products which are on sale. There is a rotation of exhibitions in the attached gallery space, and particularly at this... More

The exhibition of art work was a lovely experience and enjoyed by all of the people with me but unfortunately could not say the same about the staff that work in the cafe. We found the staff to be rude and showed an unwelcome attitude to the members of my family.

Thanks you for your comments about the the beautiful crafts we have here. We are sorry your cafe experience didn't meet such high standards. We try to provide consistently excellent service and have clearly failed in this case. We have passed on your comments to our cafe staff. Please could you be more specific and let us know a time...
