We have now been on the Fairmile three times. My sister, myself, and our husbands didn't realise the significance of the tour until we heard the commentary. Our father, who was 17 when he served on the 'Royal Navy Speedboats' told us that the most horrendous experience of his war, was the recovery of burned and decomposing bodies of American... More

Ring the bell to summon the little ferry to take you from Greenway to Dittisham in this picturesque spot just below Agatha Christie's summer house now owned by the National Trust, after enjoying a coffee or ice cream from the kiosk and taking a sat to drink in the beautiful scenery.

A trip to Agatha Chrities's house was on my bucket list and arriving by boat was lovely. We were concerned that doing this trip during the Regatta was a mistake but buying tickets at the booth in Dartmouth (opposite Boots) was quick and efficient. Trip itself was informative ( we even saw some seals). Boat was on time both directions.... More

We did a return trip from Brixham to Torquay for £3.00 each. That is brilliant value. It was lovely to view the bay from the boat and the man doing the commentary was fun and made my day with his understated witty comments. There were lots of seats and the views were magnificent.

me and my husband crossed from Torquay, we paid on the doors without any problems and proceeded to cross. plenty of seats and the views are good as not too much open water between the two harbours. £2 return pp, keep hold of the tickets as you'll need on way back. word of caution, the line was very long on... i waited 45 minutes for the Shepard Lass boat to arrive with a 7 month old and a very excited 3 year old. It said on the notice board that there was another trip scheduled. As the boat came in the guy was shaking his head at me with a look of disgust on his face. He came up the... More

Today I took the grandchildren for a day out. Instead of using the car we decided to use public transport. The bus fare for one adult, two teenagers and an under five was the grand total of £6.90 for all day travel on buses in Torbay. Off we went to Paignton and changed for Brixham. On arrival in Brixham we... More
