Not only is this a working Harbour with a fishing fleet there are a very good selection of restaurants including Jamie Oliver's 15 and the Golden Hind to visit. On certain days they have a live band on the keyside. If you want fresh fish just to the left of the fish market entrance there is a little door where... More

Arrived on the ferry from Torquay £3 return, very good value 1/2 hour each way. Lovely place, with shops and cafes all round the harbour and the Golden Hind boat is also there for you to go on board or just take a photo. There are also more shope at the back of the harbour.

A picturesque working harbour that serves local costal towns with ferrys, mackerel and sightseeing trips. Easy to book trips at the kiosks along the harbour front. Lots of fish and chip places which once you've pruchased can be eaten along the harbour wall whilst watching families crab fishing. Great fun. The pedestrian shopping area is ok a mix of tourist... Visited 5 years ago, still charming and the water remains clear, despite the influx of bigger leisure boats. Heavy duty climbing up the steps between streets as the roads rise steeply away from the harbourside. A few reasonable eating places, less fussy and less sophisticated than Dartmouth.

This is a great town and harbour area with plenty to keep you occupied. The parking is close for those with mobilty problems. We had a lovely walk through and enjoyed just watching the boats and ferries on the move. The food outlets are varied and cater for most tastes

Due to the natural topography , this sublime harbour has not been ruined by modernisation. There is a consistant feeling of relaxed security and warm friendliness in the pubs , restaurants and shops.I would recommend this place for the simple pleasures of watching the world stroll by whilst enjoying a pint and sandwich.

Brixham harbour is a wonderful old fishing harbour, enjoy watching the little white boats with children learning to sail or walk off the fish and chips by walking on the breakwater enjoying lovely views across the bay
