Quite chilly once you enter and a bit damp. We all thought that it would benefit from some sound effects, nothing too scary but perhaps voices talking in German and marching boots, clanking equipment. I think they could also benefit from some 'scenes' being created. For example one of the wards could have beds made with a few dummies in... More

It is of course somewhat interesting, but it is very far behind the Wartunnels in Jersey .... Nobody interested in putting money into it ??

As a historical site, this was one of interest because it documented a hospital built by slaves during WWII for German soldiers who occupied the island. It was only used once by German soldiers wounded during D-Day and it wasn't a great place to be. Dark, dank, but efficiently laid out, this site reflects the bad times of war. As... More

Very interesting to visit and see just how it was built and what was in the hospital. The Guernsey people have made the hospital very life like in some areas.

A look into conditions that the Germans had to suffer having been wounded during D-Day. It is an eye opener.

Took some visitors recently but we were all very disappointed by the lack of information on the walk round. We would have happily paid a bit more to listen to facts on headphones. Even more information on the walls would be a huge improvement. Really disappointed and could be so much better.

If you want to see and read the German Occupation of Guernsey, then the underground hospital is a must. Take a coat as it may come across as cooler than outside, however though not much there the paper readings and local displays do provide an insite as to the times.

We visited in July 2013,and after an aborted visit, because the house is only open at certain times of the day,we went back the following day,and was'nt disappointed. The house is lovely, and the tour guide was very knowledgeable, although I felt the tour could have covered a few more rooms. The woodland walk complete with many statues was a real bonus on a lovely... Visited the hospital which is stripped out and only a shell so little displays to see apart from some old field kitchens. The most interesting part was at then end reading the papers and propaganda of the time. It wont take more than 30mins to get round. Its cool and damp.

Mostly this museum is a passage of cold, damp tunnels with very little information about them. At the end, there's a small room with some other artefacts and newspapers of the time which was quite interesting, but all in all, probably not worth visiting.
