This was a nice castle, although it was a bit maze-like in the way it was laid out. It was quite interesting to walk around the grounds and read the boards around the castle. The pathway leading to the entrance and some of the stairs inside the castle were quite steep so anyone with mobility issues might struggle but the... More

If you like exploring nooks and crannies then this is the place for you. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Lots of offshoots and stairs leading to surprising little exhibits in dark corners; our youngest particularly enjoyed the skeleton dance of death at the end of a passage. As others have mentioned - please be prepared for the climb. I have... More

So much to see, but lots of climbing to do! Very glad I didn't miss this well-known Jersey landmark. We were in there for 2 hours, but could have spent longer. I really did imagine what it must have been like to live or stay there in its heyday; perhaps I would have met Elizabeth I's favourite, Sir Walter Raleigh,... More

The castle's situation and history is great. Not a place to visit if you're mobility challenged thou. I have to say I loved roaming about the castle wards, nooks and crannies. My one disappointment was the lack of official tours. I say this, when comparing our experience to the sister castle of Castle Elizabeth in St. Helier, which was great... More

Pronounced Mont-O-Guy this is an 800 year old fortress and is an absolute rabbit warren. It has slowly been built up wit the last works by the Germans in 1940. We really enjoyed our visit with lots to see - there was a falconry display and medieval dancing complete with recorders, mandolin, castanets and drums! TIP: If your biking from... More

Despite being on a steep hill, it is well worth the climb. One could easily spend best part of the day here, plenty to see. This has to be one of the best vantage points on Jersey

Visited Mont Orgueil Castle one sunny day in September. There is a lot to see & read up about on your visit. As with all museum type places there is so much to read & see, almost too much to take in so I found myself being selective. As with all castles that stretch over 800 years of history or... More

Really worth a visit if you've got time to do it. It's very big with lots of different rooms, passageways and interesting facts. Definitely worth a visit.

Take the number 1 bus from St Helier to the very pretty fishing village of Gorey and the castle looms down from its cliff top perch. It's a steep walk up lots of stairs however there is another entrance accessible to everyone. Once inside however there are lots of stairs and plenty to see and do with magnificent views, living...
