We visited the castle in April and were treated to a fantastic sunny day with great views. A great place to take the kids (although we were just a couple) as there are so many hidden rooms but keep an eye on younger ones or you may loose them! Also steep steps in place some of which are spiral. We... More

The castle is very majestic and was well worth the bus journey to the East side of the Island. I could not get over the size of the castle and am sure we missed some parts of it... we visited on a very hot day and there were activities on for children which meant there were lots of young knights... If you are no fond of walking, steps and old castles this one is not for you. The views are spectacular, especially looking down from the castle out over the sea. The castle is well signposted and signs telling the visitor more about each area or display are clear and well presented. The German occupation observation posts on the roof... More

Fantastic, just how a castle should be, perched on a hill over looking the bay. You can imagine knights living there. Great views, lots of stairs, lots of hidey holes and spiral staircases. I loved it. Well done Jersey Heritage.

If you have a romantic notion of what a castle should look like then I suspect Mont Orgueil comes somewhere close. Perched high above the waves below in all its majestic glory, this early 13th-century castle was in use as recently as the German occupation of Jersey up to 1945 and is a fascinating place to spend a morning exploring... Mont Orgueil Castle is a real medieval castle as you imagine them when a child, with plenty of "nooks and crannies" and towers. It stands high and mighty on a promontory jutting out into the sea.

This is a fab example of Jersey's castles. Not for the faint hearted or hard of walking, lots of stair and quite steep climbing. The map of the castle highlights its most interesting attractions, sadly on a down side, it takes a lot of exploring to find them, a few little sign posts pointing you in the right direction would... Beautiful castle with stunning view. A lot of climbing through a narrow staircases but easy enough even for a 5 year old. All family enjoyed it.

A beautiful castle, lots of rooms to explore, things to do, helpful staff, good tea shop where we were also allowed to eat our own sandwiches. Great day out for all
