Gorgeous beach to stroll on in February

Absolutely love the beach. Walked the full 3 miles of it and then a further 12 along the coast. Heaven!

are there any bad beaches on Jersey? Certainly St Heliers is as impressive as others we saw on the Island, with the additional backdrop of Elizabeth Castle

If you fancy a walk between St Aubin and St Hellier (2 hours), I would recommend to use the beach as it is far nicer than the relatively busy roads above the concrete sea defense. Excellent also if you fancy running on the sand which is not too soft. As a beach, I would not really recommend it, it is... More

It is like crossing a motorway to get to it, and it is an unattractive beach. I'm told that there was once a lovely esplanade with beach going all the way from the Pomme D'Or Hotel, right up to where the beach now is. Dreadful concrete seafront, well worth missing. Better to jump on a bus to one of the... More

So beautiful, so peaceful (considering it's on a main road that's really saying something!), so calm, I loved it, watching the tide come in was beautiful and visiting in the evening (or low tide) reveals some interesting things that the sea hides

With firm sand and a very large area at low tide, always a very good walk whether on a still sunny day or in a bracing wind.

We walked out to Elizabeth Castle across the causeway. We didn't go in the castle but walked amongst the rocks and sand enjoying the sunshine. On the way back across we watched the little egrets wading in the shallows. This is a great place for birdlife. Having a picnic on the giant stepped sea defences we watched the speed of... More

I was very disappointed with what now passes for St Helier seafront. I felt like I was in East London's Docklands. No doubt popular with some people, modernised to the point of being a city by the water! Even from Elizabeth Castle the garishly coloured high rise buildings look out of place.
