It is like crossing a motorway to get to it, and it is an unattractive beach. I'm told that there was once a lovely esplanade with beach going all the way from the Pomme D'Or Hotel, right up to where the beach now is. Dreadful concrete seafront, well worth missing. Better to jump on a bus to one of the... More

So beautiful, so peaceful (considering it's on a main road that's really saying something!), so calm, I loved it, watching the tide come in was beautiful and visiting in the evening (or low tide) reveals some interesting things that the sea hides

With firm sand and a very large area at low tide, always a very good walk whether on a still sunny day or in a bracing wind.

We walked out to Elizabeth Castle across the causeway. We didn't go in the castle but walked amongst the rocks and sand enjoying the sunshine. On the way back across we watched the little egrets wading in the shallows. This is a great place for birdlife. Having a picnic on the giant stepped sea defences we watched the speed of... More

I was very disappointed with what now passes for St Helier seafront. I felt like I was in East London's Docklands. No doubt popular with some people, modernised to the point of being a city by the water! Even from Elizabeth Castle the garishly coloured high rise buildings look out of place.

Feeling like some gentle exercise while on Jersey? Try taking a gentle stroll or more energetic if you so choose from St. Helier to St. Aubins . You can follow the well marked walking path along the Esplanade or you can cycle. Both ways take you a around St Aubins Bay with a stunning view of both Elizabeth Castle and... More

Clean, tidy and almost deserted during our visit - perfection! No amusements or fairground rides spoiling it. Perfect for a romantic walk - or to sit and enjoy.
