Walking towards the clock it looks like a full size ship, once you get closer it looks like part of a ship. From a distance you can see a clock between the funnels and when you get up to it there are warnings about steam, but where it was a cold day and there was no steam. The paddles go... More

Nice to look at, but a lot more could have been done with this space. Pretty boring place to sit and too near traffic belting out fumes for my liking.

It was amazing to see a steam clock but unfortunately it wasn't functioning the day I went, still it's a beautiful clock and well worth a visit- if you go to the maritime museum it's around the back of the building!

Unusual clock based on the middle section of a paddle steamer, however it didn't seem to working and the time shown was wrong.

A very large stream clock, very strange location for such an impressive clock. Located right next to a very busy and noisy road, this clock rings bells, toots, whistles and blows bubbles on the hour. Interesting to view the mechanics of this, the largest steam clock in the world.

I was under the impression that this would chime and blow steam (based on things I'd read) but it did neither despite visiting on more than one occasion. It may only operate during the summer season tough. Still a lovely thing to see and worth a visit to see this and the benches around here and the marina.

A novel clock driven by steam power and they say it is the only steam clock in the world. It is shaped like a packet steamer and is worth a look for the curiosity value. Shame you cannot play on it because it looks like it ought to be a great climbing toy but there are notices on it warning... More

Not an attraction as such, hence the rating but interesting to see a steam powered clock. The paddle wheels actually work

I couldn't see what it was about. Is it run by steam? I don't think so. What's the point of it? Yes, it told the time but that's about it as far as I could see.
